Tokyo Shinjuku Ward 2-star Hotels

We were looking for a convenient place to stay for one night before catching the Narita Express (very) early the next day. This place seemed like it ticked all the boxes - family room, convenient to the station, well-reviewed on TripAdvisor, so I felt fairly comfortable going a bit over our budget because it ticked so many boxes. All of those were definite benefits, and I'll add a few more: - the family room/apartment was _massive_. Five beds in three bedrooms, a study, a living area, a kitchen and dining room, a full-sized bathroom, a laundry... This was unexpected in Tokyo to say the least. - staff were very helpful - we arrived a hour ahead of schedule (caught an earlier Shinkensen by chance) and instead of asking us to wait, they rushed to get our room ready and checked us in. However there is one massive downside, and given the other reviews I suspect it might be specific to the family room - the room has basically no soundproofing so sleep quality is terrible. The hotel is very close to a major road, so sirens and horns interrupted our sleep constantly. I was lucky to get about two hours across the entire night unfortunately. Reading other reviews I was surprised no one else has mentioned this so I strongly suspect it's specific to the room 1001, given most others reference the 11th floor. If so, try and avoid this room. I feel bad about rating the hotel so lowly given other positives but if you rent a hotel room to sleep and then that's rendered impossible, it's failing in a fairly fundamental manner. The room is also quite dated and a bit crazily put together (very low lintel on one doorway, bedrooms looking completely different to the rest of the apartment, stuck cupboards, etc), but this is not something that would've knocked off points in a review, regardless of the headache from the lintel - just more of an FYI.

The structure is a bit dated and the furniture is quite spartan, but the rooms are huge compared to the national average. We very much appreciated the presence of the towels, which were changed every day if necessary. Very silent, but rather dark room, also considered that windows are dark, so it is not possible to see out and filter very little light. The reception is a very elementary English speaker, but we have never had any problems with understanding and staff has always been very kind. Location of the structure more than excellent: it is located in a side-side ban between a stop of Yamanote and that of another line of metro. Shinjuku is about 20 minutes walking away and there are many restaurants, konbines and a Don Quijote in the Shinokubo district. In conclusion: Most recommended for those who want to spend little, have no claims and want to be in a great position.

Small and cleaned room, located in a very convenient location of shinjuku, Tokyo. Short stroll from the Lawson shop, restaurant, underground and coffee shops. The hotel has an Japanese in style with ice machine down the corridor.

When my friend and I decided to extend another day in Tokyo, we booked our stay at The Best Hotel. This is situated at the Korean Village, and is very close to the hustle and bustle of Shinjuku. However, this place is very quiet. We were given a room at the ground floor, which was very convenient for us since we had to check out at 6am. Desperately looking for a place to print our new e-tickets, we requested the concierge to assist us. There was suplosed to be a charge but the gentleman said it was fine and did not accept the payment. This hotel can accept your luggage before your checkin time in order for you to enjoy the city. Since checkin time is at 1600 hours, we would highly suggest that you plan your itinerary in order to maximize your holiday tours. The place has a vending machine outside. It is also a few meters away from Hotel Gracery where you can spot Godzilla. We realized how good and convenient the location is during the evening. The price is so good considering its area. The staff are all very polite and are very accommodating. If given a chance to return and stay in Shinjuku, I would definitely put this in my top list of places to stay.

a hotel with style, dacoration of another times but shik. the room was comfortable clean and fres. the staff very polite and gentl, talking very good english. old stracture well kept in time well remodaledand still giving the atmospahere of old japan in away ,, i guess.

I like this room very much. It's very Japanese style. The only drawback is that there is no dry and wet separation. The bathroom is too small and the bed is very comfortable.

4.5 stars! My spouse, son, and I have previously stayed at Kadoya in December 2019. I was delighted with our most recent stay in February 2023. Last time, I booked a triple bed room. This time I booked a ”Fourth Standard - 2 king beds (Universal Design Type -B” room. What a terrific room. The tv set was massive! Even I had to grin at the size of the tv screen. There was a ledge behind the bed which was convenient to put cups on during our evening beverages. We also used the ledge to place our cellphones on overnight as they charged. Ample electrical plugs. The room has a small fridge to keep drinks cool. A microwave is located in the laundry room. The laundry room also has two washing machines and two dryers. All coin operated. There is also a vending machine in the laundry room. Handrails in the shower/tub of the bathroom much appreciated. Staff at Kadoya that I encountered were very pleasant and helpful. I requested front desk staff to kindly print out documents and they did so without hesitation. Housekeeping staff is friendly and promptly brought me towels and extra wooden hangers when requested. Daily housekeeping service. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash all had a pleasant fragrance. We were provided with feather-free pillows and feather-free duvets given our allergies. Room was clean. Ample space for 4 luggages. Excellent location. Close to Shinjuku station. Several dining options nearby. Pharmacy nearby. 24 hour Lawson convenience store next door. Another Lawson across the street. Travel tip: We arrived at Kadoya using the Airport Limousine Bus which departed from Narita. I chose the Keio Plaza Hotel instead of the Shinjuku stop as it is closer to Kadoya. Get off at the Keio Plaza stop and walk through the lobby. Leave the Keio Plaza hotel and walk 2 blocks to Kadoya. When going to Narita, in order to get to Narita quicker I booked the Airport Limousine Bus to depart from Shinjuku as the earliest bus leaving from Keio Plaza hotel was not early enough for me. Catch the bus from Bus Stop 23 located right in front of the Airport Limousine Bus ticketing office, to the left of Keio department store. Currently, Airport Limousine Bus routes and schedules are reduced. All in all a pleasant stay at Kadoya!

Just 5 minutes away from the JR and subway lines!! Low rate as well.

My experience was a bit different than some other reviewers. Others referred to the peeling paint in the bath. My room musts have been remodeled (it was on the 5th floor) because it seemed newly done, and had a nice acrylic sort of covering on the walls. I stayed in a western room, and it had plenty of room as a single traveler. I especially liked the bath, as it had full Japanese bath facilities, including a wide variety of lotions and creams. The layout of the room was fine, with the toilet in a separate small room and the bath separate again from the sleeping area. The shower pressure was great, as is typical in Tokyo. I found the bed to be comfortable and the pillows were soft. My biggest gripe with the place is the wifi. For whatever reason, I found the wifi to drop constantly on my phone. My laptop security software gave me a warning of some outdated security settings on the hotel's wifi system, so I don't know if that was relevant or not. All I do know is that I found the wifi on my phone to be unreliable. In general, if you have a pocket wifi device for backup, this is a nicely-located, well-equipped budget choice near to Shinjuku.
