Best Spa Hotel in Madrid

1. We booked two double-bed rooms. When we checked in, we were given a double-bed room and a twin-bed room. Two gay men cannot sleep in the same bed, so we went to the front desk to coordinate, and the front desk told us to change rooms. There is an additional fee of 30 euros! Don’t hotels have to abide by the agreement? Don’t hotels have to honor reservations? I hope Ctrip can give an explanation! ! ! Second, there is no Chinese courtesy at the service desk! It’s not like they can communicate in Chinese as Ctrip said! 3. When we arrived at the hotel, we were charged an additional deposit of 600 euros. After checking out, there is still no payment reminder! very worried!

We were in Madrid for the first time, and picked Barcello de Torre primarily based on location and the glowing reviews on Trip Advisor. Anything you read that's positive is true: it's new, clean, perfectly located, reasonably priced, great breakfast, etc, but it seems like every menber of the staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. It's an easy walk to the Royal Palace, the Plaza de Espana subway stop is directly across the street, lots of restaurants close by, easy walk to Puerta del Sol, excellent dinner in the restaurant. large rooms. An extremely well run operation that should be the model for others in it's class.

As a Marriott Titanium / Lifetime Platinum Elite Guest, our family [husband, wife and two young daughters] decided to visit Madrid, Spain to start our month-long 2023 summer vacation in Europe. We spent five (5) nights at Westin Palace Madrid using our Bonvoy points in late May / early June 2023. Please see the thirty-eight (38) photos we posted with this review of all aspects of the hotel. Within days after making our five (5) night stay using Marriott Bonvoy points approximately ten (10) months prior to our arrival date, we emailed General Manager, Pablo Flores and advised him of our future stay as well as our special requests, including our request for an Executive Suite, which would comfortably host our family of four. Within hours of our email, we received a thoughtful reply Paloma Hidalgo, Director of Rooms, whom immediately provided us with a complimentary guaranteed upgrade to an Executive Suite and further, Ms. Hidalgo readily granted all of our other special requests. The prompt response did not come as a surprise to us given how active the management of this property is in reading and promptly replying to past guests on Trip Advisor as well as the Marriott Bonvoy website, which is but a mere sign of management’s commitment to exemplary customer service. Not surprisingly, we were overjoyed with such a response and really looked forward to our future stay at The Westin Palace Madrid. This gorgeous historic hotel is magnificently located in Madrid overlooking the Neptune Fountain and less than a three minute walk to the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, less than a five minute walk to the Prado Museum and less than a ten minute walk to the Reina Sofia Museum. It is also extremely close to Retiro Park and is within an easy 15 minute walk to Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and the Gran Via as well as many bars, restaurant, trendy cafés, market and other cultural attractions. You can easily walk everywhere throughout the entire city but public transportation options abound in close proximity to the hotel as well. Our initial visit to the Westin Palace Madrid did not disappoint, especially when the hotel accommodated our extremely early check-in (before 9:00 am). The check-in process with Ms. Hidalgo, Estefanía Martinez, Front Office Assistant Manager and Juan at the reception desk was a breeze. Further, Ms. Martinez was kind enough to personally escort us to our suite and show us all of the features and amenities of same. This was very thoughtful on the part of Ms. Martinez and very much appreciated. Throughout our entire five (5) night stay, Ms. Hidalgo and Ms. Martinez were especially helpful and friendly. We simply loved our Palace Executive Suite with slightly over 1,000 square feet in total space with a sublime view of the Neptune Fountain; it was truly remarkable. I really enjoyed my stay here. My room was clean, very large and clean, and the bathroom was very nicely updated. The staff was also very nice and helpful. I was stupid and didn't remove the drain plug in the sink before using it, so it got stuck with water on top in the sink. I explained to the front desk what was wrong, and a very kind repair man had it sorted within 5-10 mins of my asking. I do speak Spanish so I can't comment on their English proficiency for other tourists though. However, my word of caution: this hotel is about an hour from the city center of Madrid by transport. It's past the end of the line on the Metro, from which you either have to take a bus or walk about twenty minutes (also caution: if you are coming back from the city center after midnight, the buses do not run regularly). That being said, it's a really nice area with a very peaceful walk to the station. Even as a solo 21 year old female walking back past midnight I never felt unsafe at all. Also when I went (mid February) it smelled really nice all around because the flowers were in bloom. Just an FYI because it is a little annoying to meet friends in the city center/do things there and then know you have at least an hour before you get back to your hotel.

The environment is relatively new, relatively clean and simple, but the bathroom is a bit old. The service attitude is very good, and the good English people at the front desk are very good at communicating. The first room I stayed in had a smell. The front desk was very nice and helped me change the room immediately.

We got an awesome room, great location and super Fun pool. It’s super popular with the Instagram crowd and they cater a bit to them. But everyone is super nice and friendly, treated our kids lovingly although they accidentally threw away our baby’s lovie and couldn’t find it later which super sucked. The bathroom flooded because it was so full of hair from previous guests, kind of gross. Got an absolutely terrible night sleep because you can hear every single Thing in the hotel from next door to above you. They seemed to be vacuuming rooms at 1:00AM above us and moving furniture which was super loud. Food was great, service was excellent but alot of snotty people.

Location’s good - near the airport and few minutes away from the shopping mall. Staff are really accommodating and friendly. Breakfast is good too. We can definitely recommend this hotel for travelers who want to stay an extra night or two to get away from the busy city of Madrid.

1. Breakfast is very good, put a table, full. It is right to eat local things, and it is recommended that the parents who go abroad bring their own cup noodles. 2. The room is blue and white, and it is very well matched with the decorative blue and white porcelain. The details are everywhere, and Spain is the country with the most artists. 3. What impressed me the most was that there were slippers and a hot water bottle. 4. The hotel is very nice to go around, where we are all going. 5. Hotel service is very good. 6. The elevator mouth has capsule coffee and snacks before noon, so you can't eat it.

The restaurant is very elegant, silver utensils, breakfast is rich in variety, we are travelling with parents, so the hotel gave us two rooms to the door, and there are doors outside the door to ensure privacy, near the hotel is the Lichi Park. There are subways in the surrounding area. This old hotel has no service and management. The room is quite big. The price is considered to be very high in the luxury hotel. The most satisfactory hotel in Spain is the Wellington Hotel.

The Pestana Plaza Mayor is literally in the heart of the city. As a tourist, I don’t think you could ask for a better location. But the hotel manages to do everything else right too. There is a small rooftop pool and even a pool bar. The public spaces are fantastic including the indoor pool area and the breakfast room. Our family suite was absolutely perfect with multiple balconies looking out on the Plaza. We couldn’t get enough of the amazing views! Every interaction we had with the staff was perfect. It’s amazing to find no complaints in a busy city hotel but somehow, they did everything right. We will absolutely return and can’t imagine staying anywhere else in Madrid.
