The Station Hotel

I always enjoy my visits to this hotel. Normally, I am able to request my favourite room, #5 on the first floor of two (no lift). On my most recent occasion, I was informed at check-in that there was a problem with the window blind, which is huge. The young man on reception was able to fix it, although there was still a bright external light which cast its beams onto the left side of the bed and pillow. The only quick solution was to lean the handle of my suitcase against the side of the blind to eliminate as much light as possible. Another guest had made a similar recent comment. Maybe a new rail and fixings wouldn't go amiss? Otherwise, the room was fully carpeted and extremely cosy, offering a comfortable double bed, TV, storage and hanging spaces, plenty of sockets, a well-stocked tea and coffee tray and no bright internal lights. There is also a fan with variable speeds. The shower room is quite small, but perfectly adequate, with a powerful shower, and offering high quality shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, hand and body lotion. Even the loo paper is not the usual thin offering! White, fluffy towels are in abundance, too. I would imagine no two rooms are the same. Even though the hotel is a five minute walk to the station, the trains do not disturb you. Also, the first floor is directly above the bar and eating areas, but there is no sound. So, thank you, Station Hotel. I'm sure I will return soon.

We stayed at the hotel as a family of three during Christmas holidays and could only say the words if praise. Everything was ecxellent, from the staff, check-in, restaurant (we had breakfast), offer, room, spotless. The location is great, only 12 min to the city centre by bus, the bus stations are right across the road. There's a supermarket,a pharmacy right oppossite the hotel,so you have everything you need.Perfect! We will definiteky come again on our next trip to London.

Absolutely cracking burgers, must try if visiting. Vegan options and a selection of poutine style loaded chips. Relaxed atmosphere lots of space to work whilst lunching too. Will definitely be returning soon, lovely staff make all the difference. Many thanks!

The location is good, very close to the subway station. The hotel staff was very happy to help. We arrived at the hotel before check-in time. The staff helped us to store our luggage. We also boiled water in the hotel tea room. The rooms are neat and clean, the basic facilities are overall satisfactory. But there is a problem, that is, I did not notice that this hotel is not provided with free wifi before booking the hotel. Because I have the data of the mobile phone card, I actually feel that there is no problem without wifi. However, I found that the hotel room basically could not receive the data signal of the mobile phone card (most of the time there was no cell). I specifically tried to receive the signal in the hotel lobby. As soon as the door was pushed out of the hotel, the signal was full. This is very unsatisfactory.

Without a doubt the worst nights sleep I've ever had! It's very clean and tidy and staff are nice to your face so I thought it would be good...I was wrong. They reckon it's soundproofed, the noise was unreal, people screaming and shouting in the hallways all night, squeaking stairs with people thundering up and down, woken up every half an hour! Then someone was hammering away on the front door, staff didn't stop any of this. No noise policy?! I was absolutely furious. We were also given a room right next to building works, as in RIGHT outside the window on the ground floor, we could have shaken hands through the window, we had to close the blind as the builders kept staring in! We weren't warned they were right outside, and we got their cigarette smoke through the window all the time we were there. Hotel accepts absolutely no responsibility as they're just in it for money, so booking gave me 10% back, absolutely ridiculous. They are scam artists, I have never known anything like it. The image attached you can see that's the builder literally right outside.

I liked it a lot, we had premium rooms and it was very good except that my towel smelled bad, another thing I didn't like was the English breakfast, which was good except for that because there was a kind of strange bacon that couldn't even be cut and you could barely eat, the rest was perfect, the receptionist was very nice and did a very good job.
