It is not recommended for guests with a lot of luggage or big suitcases: firstly, because the B&B is located in the Ernenhan Sannenhan Scenic Area, which is crowded with tourists during the day, and taxis cannot get in at all. You need to drag your suitcases uphill and downhill. It was quite laborious to find the place to stay on the stone streets and steps; secondly, after checking out, I found it difficult to get a car, so I had to drag my suitcases by myself through the crowded stone streets to the main road far away. Wow!! What a special place. Our favorite accommodation on our trip to Japan. The small streets and alleys are so charming and being next to the Yasaka Pagoda is incredible. Head out early in the morning before the crowds and it's magical to walk around, especially with the cherry blossoms blooming. The alley way to walk down to house is small and it feels like a secret place to stay! Perfect location to explore Gion area and head up to Kiyomizu-dera. We were only in Kyoto for one night and so happy we stayed here. The house itself is traditional and beautiful. The futons on the floor were incredibly comfy. It felt a bit chilly inside as we were there in March, but we cranked the heaters in the rooms and it was comfortable. It was great to have the slippers there to keep feet warm. Highly recommend!
