Hotel Villa Duomo

Kotor|0.01km from city center
This hotel has so much character, which is symptomatic of being right in the middle of Kotor’s old town and only a very short distance from the main (sea) gate, outside which the tourist information kiosk is located. There are so many bars, cafés and restaurants within a few seconds’ walk. I have no idea how old the building is but it has all the look and feel of a converted medieval castle. Our room was big and comfortable (as was the bed) with great views of the Church of St Tryphon and a small kitchen & fridge. The only minor complaint I would have is that the shower, which is separate from the sink and toilet and has no door for privacy, only has a hand held shower head. It’s not to easy to wash your hair (or anywhere else really) with one hand while having to hold the shower head with the other. Surely a hook could easily be fixed on to the wall. We even had a private sauna in the room but I can’t imagine spending €30 per day, just to get probably no more than 30 mins usage. Breakfast, served outdoor on the patio (unless it’s raining), has a range of options and each we tried set us up for the full day. A special mention must go to the staff, who were incredibly nice and efficient. Vladana and Milica share all the reception and breakfast service duties (alternating 7am-3pm and 3pm-11pm shifts) but are never seen without a smile on their faces and Bojana seems to combine the breakfast cooking and maid roles. They are all such lovely people. If this isn’t one of the best hotels in the old town then there must be an unbelievable number of top 5* hotels there.

D & Sons Apartments
4.4/555 Reviews
The apartment is situated inside one of the original old buildings of Kotor within the city walls. It has easy access to everything in the old city. We were able to park a car about 200 m away in a public car park currently at no cost Well refurbished with plenty of space. We were travelling as two couples. It was great to have separate bedrooms each with its own bathroom. The host was very helpful, explained a number of useful things about the city and the apartment. He was easily reachable if required. As this apartment was within the city centre, it was very busy and noisy. However, this did not bother us and the noise seemed to stop around about midnight. The apartment was very comfortable and we slept well. We would have no hesitation about booking this apartment again.
Hotel Vardar

That was really an unforgettable experience. Really warm welcome and helpful check-in experience. Location was awesome and in the middle of the main square of Kotor Old Town. Thanks to this location advantage, you can get relaxed anytime you want during your daily walk. If you have a car, hotel has an agreement with a safe public parking garage. Garage is really close to hotel and always available. Although daily parking cost is 20€, you can use it by paying 10€ to hotel. (I think it is the best amount for Kotor Old Town) When we need anything (such as ice for broken finger in the midnight, they really helped and solved the issue with lots of ice cubes.) The room was modernly decorated and has so many helpful guest amenities. There are so many types of food in breakfast but it can be improved. Don’t worry, you will be satisfied. Minibar also has all kind of beverages with and without alcohol. I finally thank to hotel staff once, and especially to Anja for her warm, sympathetic and helpful approach. And thank you for the gift you gave us at check out. Hope to see you once Hotel Vardar!
Puerta Apartments
3.5/54 Reviews
Because I booked a hotel late, I didn’t have many choices. Hotels in the ancient city are very expensive. This Puerta apartment cost 4,000 for three nights, which is indeed very expensive. The service is average, the price is high but there is no free water, no slippers, and no cleaning service during the stay (although we generally don't need it). Arrive at noon, enter the north gate of the ancient city, go up the alley to the left of the church, and call the notice at door 505, telling you that you cannot check in before two o'clock, and you can only sit in the ice cream shop with your luggage for an hour. Later, my brother took me to a nearby alley. The room was here and the cleaning was rather sloppy. The highlight is the breakfast, a cooperative breakfast with Athos Street food, which is large and delicious. Because we had to go out early on the first day, the beauty at the dining bar made sandwiches in the evening and delivered them to our room. It was a great review! If you book early, you will definitely choose an apartment not far outside the city.
Boutique Hotel Astoria Kotor

Small boutique hotel, superb in every way, but no parking lot.
Guesthouse Athos
3.6/52 Reviews
I am shocked that Guesthouse Athos doesn’t have more reviews, because I found my stay here absolutely wonderful! Located just a few steps away from the more bustling/touristy squares, Athos lets you feel a bit more removed and tranquil, especially nice for a quiet morning coffee at one of the cafes outside. The room was spotless and comfortable, with picture-perfect views from every side. I made an emergency booking and within 15 minutes my room was ready for me and the check in staff helped me carry my bags up the stairs (they are quite steep as others have mentioned). One thing to know - there is a lively bar next door, if you are a light sleeper I would recommend earplugs. A lovely experience here that I highly recommend for anyone looking for a Kotor hotel.
Palma Apartments

It was dark in Montenegro, and we got off the bus when we arrived. The landlord came out to help us park the car and mentioned two 26-inch suitcases to the room. The room heating has been turned on, the landlord is very enthusiastic to give a lot of travel tips, and also provides welcome drinks. The room has a balcony, open the window and say Kotor Bay. When there is sun, sit on the balcony and chat with friends for coffee and enjoy the scenery. Stayed for two nights, and there was a MSC cruise into the bay. Not far from the ancient city, about 10 minutes walk, there are shopping centers on the way to the ancient city, there are big supermarkets, very convenient. The room is not very big, but it is equipped with a kitchen and tableware. It is very convenient to simply make something to eat.
