Kolding Hotel Apartments

Our family has stayed at Kolding Hotel Apartments for extended periods of time 6 times when visiting family. We have always enjoyed our stay. On the plus side, the location is perfect with easy access to shops and most importantly for us the waterpark. The The apartment layout makes longer stays enjoyable families with children. The kids room and especially the bunk bed are always popular with our daughter. The living room setup is very nice as well. The Wifi is strong even with several devices online. And the front desk staff is always very polite and helpful. On the minus side, the bathroom and master bed room are due for an upgrade (as mentioned earlier we have visited 6 times over about as many years) to make them more modern. Although the heated floor in the bathroom is quite nice in the winter. The kitchen and dining room is okay and makes for an okay workspace as well. The parking is also okay although it was a bit disappointing on our most recent visit to learn they start charging for it. Overall it is two thumbs up

Stayed here for one night as we wanted a hotel with a pool on our road trip. Of course when we arrived, we were told that the pool was closed because of technical reasons (whatever that is) and also that the on site restaurant was fully booked. Not a great start, but we carried on to our room located in a separate building. The room was nice enough, but had a slight smell of seward coming from the bathroom, one of the towels had an unidentifiable brown stain on it and there was a dead bug in the window. Probably (and really hopefully) the room hadn't been used for a while, so by opening a window when driving for dinner, the smell was gone when we came back. Breakfast was ok, but there is no doubt that there is a heavy focus on breakfast cost, as things could have been much better just with a slight loving touch from the chefs. Instead it seemed like minimum effort within an acceptable but very dull selection. Luckily the pool had opened again in the morning so our small one got to enjoy it for half an hour before we had to check out. Otherwise the grounds are nice and so are the surroundings, but they charge quite a lot, and with that regard the value for money should be better.

The hotel is very well located across from the train station, a quick easy 10 min walk to the town center and many restaurants and walking distance to Koldinghus. They have underground secure parking. We booked 2 rooms with courtyard views (not really much of a view) looking at private apartments in the same complex and roofs. Its not a noisy town so would not pay the higher price for the courtyard views. The rooms are basic. Found the beds too soft. Upon check in a coffee mugs still had coffee remnants from a previous guest. The bathroom is simple and functional. There was an electric fan. No AC or safe.

The room was clean and sports. I also watched the handball scene on weekends. The nearby green park was full of streams and suitable for hiking. But there are no restaurants to choose from around, but fortunately there is a supermarket, you can buy it yourself for DIY.

A very good location, across the road from train station, few mins walk to castle, lake and town centre. Helpful Reception staff who speak good English. No kettles in the rooms, but a variety of teas, coffees , hot chocolate available from downstairs 24 hours a day The included breakfast buffet is excellent - cereal, yoghurt, fruit, bread, cheese, cold meats, scrambled eggs, bacon, meat balls, pancakes, Danish pastries. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom has hair / body wash (no hairdryer as far as I could see). The only slightly strange thing is that they seem to make the beds with the duvets folded into three. Maybe there is some easy way to unfold them, but each night I ended up pulling all the bedding off to unfold the duvets into a useable position. In their folded up position, they only come up to your waist or if you pull them up, your legs stick out of the bottom. Overall, an excellent place to stay and I would happily come back here

Stayed for one night with the family. The room was clean and quiet, a little bit small but still ok for a short trip. Parking was good even though we had a very big car. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Only the thing that would be great to improve is breakfast… it feels a little bit like a hall instead of relaxed breakfast experience.
