Hotels in Lonely Beach / Bai Lan Bay, Koh Chang

This hotel has been operating for over 10 yrs. It was good back then and still a good vibe here. Its got to be the best budget option on Lonely beach for sure. The room I was allocated was so clean, nice and had a new feel about it. Large bathroom and fridge in the room. Good price Restaurant food is not bad. The Cambodians working there are friendly. But I imagine they dont suffer fools. If you treat them well they will treat you well. If I were management I would probably keep a closer eye on them to make sure they are being polite to all customers. If you plan to walk into town at nighttime you need a torch. Its not far but dangerous in the dark with the bikes and cars zipping past. Highly recommend this hotel and restaurant. Right on the stunning beach. White sand and nice water. Cant wait to go back!

Traveling to Koh Chang on Songkran Day, if the Accor Group uses benefits, it must be considered. Mercure Koh Chang Hideaway booked a Standard room but was upgraded to a Deluxe Seaview room and received Platinum benefits. Quite complete. The room is okay. I like it because I have to pay only 1,402 baht per night. The room is full due to a long holiday. I'm glad I upgraded. I have reserved 3 rooms, there are welcome drinks for all 3 rooms. For dinner, most of the guests leave their stomachs at the Buffet Hotel because it is Songkran Festival. Accor Plus cannot use the discount at all. The price is not expensive, only 530 baht per person, but.. Phra Chuay Thai food is delicious. Anyone staying here recommends trying Thai food. The happy hour here is satisfyingly long from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Anyone who eats the buffet will receive a buy 1 free 1 promotion until 10:00 p.m., very worthwhile. The highlight of this place is a lot of photo angles, and taking beautiful photos, but the beach is not okay, which is a weak point. The sea water is hardly played because there are a lot of rocks. I mostly stay at the swimming pool 100% recommend if anyone sleeps here to relax and snorkel on the last day, come back to swim at the pool, take chic photos and eat buffet 🙂 Breakfast is quite suitable for Thai people, focusing on spicy Thai food. It also has my favorite pizza. The hotel has a Starbucks on the beach but does not participate in a star or membership program. For me, April 13-15 is a rest day. I'm pretty happy here. Let's just say for Accor members or group members. If anyone comes to Koh Chang, recommend here. You can get both nights and points. If there is any problem during your stay, I suggest you don't wait, hurry and share with him. He knows the problem and is ready to take care of it immediately. Come to Koh Chang next time, Mercure is still our choice.

Where do I start?! Elephant Bay Resort is my new favourite place in the world!! My partner and I stayed here in March 2020 for almost 3 months. We have stayed in both standard and superior rooms. Both are more than adequate for a comfortable stay. Powerful aircon, mosquito nets and TV (Superior room). Lovely veranda to sit on and enjoy the views. The main bar area has comfy couches, board games and pool table...and tasty mojitos! Our original stay was during the beginning of the Covid 19 pandemic, and I'm so happy to have been 'stuck' here during it all. We returned again for 3 weeks (August 2020) and all the staff were so welcoming and happy to see familiar faces back at the resort. Dee, Zom, Go, Ty and Jha are all so lovely and smiley and always there to make sure you have everything you need to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Elephant Bay isn't complete without the 2 resident fur babies, Gogo - the talking dog and Charlie - the mosquito catcher! Both gorgeous, friendly dogs who will quickly become your best friends! Our stay wouldn't have been the same without the owners Remco and Ann. They went above and beyond to make us feel like we were staying with family and it made me very sad to leave. We will without a doubt be back to visit Elephant Bay, hopefully in the near future. Thank you all so much, we miss everyone already! See you all soon. Rachel & Marc :)

The breakfast is great, the clerk service is very good, the environment is also very good, highly recommended, but it is far away from the white beach, you can ask the front desk to help contact a taxi, the better is that it is relatively quiet, suitable for a leisure vacation, and the lively ones are to live in the white beach Better nearby

We was going to book these bungalows for 8 nights but our card refused payment so we phoned the number on the website and they accepted booking over the phone with no deposit, best thing that’s ever happened to us We arrived at exotic bungalows to be meeted by Demitri who showed us our bungalow,straight away we refused the room dirty shower room ,no where to put clothes,stained sheets, he offered us a alternative room room if we waited for it to be cleaned of which we accepted it had a wardrobe to put our clothes it was still not worth what we paid During the night it rained and our roof leaked in, we woke to our wardrobe being soaked and a massive pool of water around our bed Our friends sat up all night with their roof leaking all over there bed In the morning we went to reception to ask for our money back but was told dimitri had gone to Bangkok for four days so no refund All of the photos on booking.com are deceiving please please don’t book this accommodation it will the worst thing you’ve ever done If you want more info you can contact me on macwaterfield@gmail.com

What a surprise !! Excellent meal with an explosion of flavors, really delicious :) Looking for authentic cuisine, we were not disappointed, quite the contrary. They also offer cuisine from around the world. Service at the top, smiling and available. We played billiards at the end of the meal. Very nice moment of exchange and conviviality. We had actually made reservations at a different hotel and were scrambling to find something for the night. We thought we would try the mecure, but it was all booked up- understandable as it was close to Songkran. We thought we’d stop in to see if they had anything available. We were welcomed with such grace, but we’re warned that the beach was rocky and it might not be what we were looking for. Honestly we were looking for two clean, comfortable rooms that had air conditioning and wifi. They were able to accommodate us. They only had junior suites left- at the back of the property. We were grateful to find anything decent at last notice! We had our first supper that night at the hotel, we were tired from traveling and finding our first reservation was sadly just not up to our standards. I had the shrimp pad Thai. The shrimp was not fresh, but it was still delicious. My Thai brother in law was very happy about the breakfast buffet- unlimit! Not too much options for foreign palates- eggs, fruit, toast. That was fine, I’ve been used to having rice among other things for breakfast while being here. I had toast with pineapple jam and fruit for breakfast. The pineapple jam is amazing! It tastes fresh like it was homemade! The best I’ve had had during my three weeks, and this is our second visit to Thailand. Housekeeping cleaned our room while at breakfast and surprised us because they were so quick and thorough. I didn’t have a chance to leave a tip! There were signs you could leave on your door to request housekeeping and we didn’t put one on. It was a nice surprise. I usually like to tidy up before asking for housekeeping. They did such a wonderful job. In the daylight, I could see that the beach was rocky and not safe for swimming so we went to explore other beaches on the island. You can rent a motorbike which was a nice option, but the roads are quite unlike anything we’ve encountered. I’m glad that I had my Thai brother in law who was a professional driver helping us out! We used the outside showers at the pool after our adventures on the beach. And relaxed in the pool before supper. It was warm! Not a bad thing, just surprising. Beautiful backdrop with mountains behind. We had a meal out in white sands our second night, but third night we ate at the restaurant again. So good! I had shrimp fried rice. The portion wasn’t small, but wasn’t as big as I was used to after being here three weeks. That’s ok I just ordered something else to fill me up. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. My only regret is that it wasn’t our first choice and maybe we could have a bungalow overlooking the water. Regardless, being at the back of the property introduced us to wildlife we haven’t seen anywhere else since our stay - carpenter bees. Google them. They are amazing!
