The Ramada is a very nice hotel, but there are certain aspects of it that could be a lot better. The hotel is in a great position, situated between a fantastic beach and a lively small town, where you’ll find lots of great restaurants, bars, massage places and a very good night market three times a week. We booked the hotel through luxury escapes, and the package included breakfast as well as lunch or dinner. Personally, I wouldn’t book half board again as the standard of food and the service at the main restaurant is not very good, especially when there are so many other options just outside the hotel. The breakfast was not bad though. I’d probably give it a 6.5 out of 10. The hotel is large, but not too large. It’s made up of regular rooms attached to the main building, as well as pool villas (no view) and beach front villas, which is what we had. The room was the best room we had on this holiday, which is pretty good when you consider we stayed at seven different hotels. We loved the fact that the room looked straight out to sea. The room itself had a large bedroom area, a dressing area and a huge bathroom with a sunken hot tub bath. His and her sinks, a walk in shower and separate toilet. The best part was the outside terrace, which was accessed through the large French doors at the front, and had two sun beds. You were far enough away from the beach and had enough greenery surrounding you, to be able to get an all over tan if you wanted to. The rooms are set amongst a lot of trees and greenery, and as such there are quite a few mosquitos to deal with. The rooms are pretty private, but the side window does look straight over to your neighbours, so with the curtains open, they can see straight into your room, and visa versa. The hotel has a very large pool, with a swim up bar. Something we enjoy very much. Part of our package included a period of free flow drinks and cocktails, which coincided with the hotel happy hour, so the bar had a pretty good atmosphere. The bar staff were really quick and happy to keep refreshing your drinks as quickly as you needed them. The pool was a little dirty, and some of my swimming shorts are stained due to the water not being clean. It’s also fairly shallow too, so it’s very warm and not very refreshing. The main restaurant on the beach looks fantastic. It has some nice lounge chairs for pre dinner or after dinner drinks. I was worried that we’d struggle to get one when we first got there, Ute I needn’t have worried, as the restaurant was dead at night. The only people eating there were either people on half board, or those that were trying it for the first (and last) time. The food portions were small, and the quality very poor. The service was not very good. The staff seem to hang around the bar area, and the fastest I ever saw anyone move, was when they thought we were leaving without signing the bill, after waiting for 20 minutes to get anyone’s attention. We did use the Spa. It has the potent
