Four Points by Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Airport/Cruise Port
3.8/5103 Reviews
This Four Points property is very close to the Fort Lauderdale port, which makes it ideal for an affordable pre-cruise stay. The lobby is clean and the restaurant/bar offers a nice selection of options. The looked like it had recently been updated but the bones of the room were very dated. The thermostat on the wall did absolutely NOTHING. We needed to control the temperature via the controls on the old-school wall air unit. While the room did cool off, the unit did little to address the humidity in the room. The bathroom was cramped and the shower had limited pressure. When the hotel was last updated, they should have reno'ed the bathrooms to include walk-in shows instead of the super old tubs that are still present. My biggest issue is the soundproofing from the street noise. I've stayed in NYC hotels that had less street noise during the night than this room. If you decide to stay here, request an ODD numbered room as they point away from the street (and to the FLL port).

Residence Inn Fort Lauderdale Intracoastal/Il Lugano

Wish I had stayed at my original choice, Hilton Beach Resort. Here we go: 1) upon check in told they don't have the room (I reserved months in ADVANCE -thru Marriot BTW) available so giving you another. I ask does have inter coastal view and fridge? Yes ok, no explanation, no apology-nothing. 2) Room dated and has seen better days, headboard filthy, furniture banged up, oh and this “other” room I was rudely assigned was smaller than my original reserved room 3) the breakfast was nothing special, at all. Now the WORST part-our last night we were going to take the evening water taxi 1 last time and enjoy the nighttime cruise BUT- 4) around 6:30ish pm, an alarm and recorded voice came on warning us to evacuate the hotel, DO NOT use the elevator, exit by via the stairwell. Fresh from the shower I throw on some shorts and a t-shirt. So we schlep down the stairs, from the 8th floor, out to the front of the place. People standing around, no one from the hotel any where. This goes on for 15 minutes, still nobody and no fire engines, no police-zero, nada, nothing. We go back into the lobby to find out what is going on-people mulling around, front desk clerk just sitting there like noting is going on (same dude who reassigned me anther room). A woman goes up to this guy and says, “what is going on, what’s the problem?” She is told “their people” checked it out and there is no problem. Waiting for fire fighters to come and turn off the alarm and warning. Yes it was still going off and the warning still blaring. We go into the bar-full of patrons-and ask the bartender, does she know anything, as she works here. Nope she was told nothing and is overwhelmed. We go out to the little patio and figure great our last night is ruined, no cruise, no dinner. The sweet bartender comes out and asks if we’d like a drink, sure. She brings out our drinks and we chat. She was the only highlight of this place. Didn’t get her name but she’s from Maine. Thank you darling-you were wonderful! Suddenly she says, ‘WAIT I DON’T HEAR IT ANY MORE.” And just like that it’s over. Not 1 person from the hotel acknowledged the incident OR communicated that it’s okay to go back to our rooms-again ZERO. So we take the elevator back up to our room. I assumed it was ok. So it’s around 7:45 ish, since our dinner reservations were ruined we take our last night’s left over to microwave them to eat. Guess what? Yep microwave doesn’t work. Go down to the bar/breakfast are to use that micro. Same sweet bartender asks if she can help us, as the breakfast area was closed off. She kindly warmed up the left overs. I thought for sure they’d make phone calls or check on guests and explain! NOPE, again a big fat. ZERO, nada, nothing, no communication. So recap-rudely assigned different room than reserved thru Marriot website-with no explanation, room very worn, micro not in working condition, and an emergency (I assume, because no one EVER explained what happened) that c
Best Western Plus Oceanside Inn

I have stayed with best Western a few times and never had a bad experience but this past experience was terrible. I reveled with my boyfriend, my family and my friends due to us having a wedding in fort laurderdale easter weekend. The maid services were extremely rude. I did not get a maid to service my room for 3 out of the 4 days we stayed. Keep in mind I paid a lot of money this past weekend due to it being A holiday weekend and considering I had a suite for the weekend!! The maids did not come for 3 days during my stay…we had wet towels piled up, trash piled up and we had to use the pool towels so we could take a shower. After complaining to the front desk they said they would send a maid immediately and no one came until about 430/5 o’clock. At this time it was too late and we had to get ready due to us having a wedding this weekend and dinner reservations on Easter. They then sent what I presume to be a manager to our room. She was extremely rude and was not helpful at all. Instead of offering any assistance or even apologizing for the inconvenience she then made a smart remark and walked away. I’ve never had this problem at the best Western before. They did not offer any accommodations for their mess up but instead ignored the problem till the duration of my stay was over. By the end of my stay our room smelled like wet tails and garbage and garbage so bad that we had to make a pile outside of the hotel room because we could not stand it in the room anymore. I also talked to a few rooms that weekend Who were also having problems with the maid services not coming to their rooms and how rude they were when they saw them. I am extremely disappointed in the best Western Oceanside for this terrible experience and for not even an apology.
Royal Beach Palace

Although the hotel was under construction in some of the areas, we enjoyed a wonderful weekend at the Palace. We upgraded our room to the honeymoon suite with a jacuzzi in the spacious room which also included a tub bathroom. The resturant food was above average and the staff was pleasant and very helpful. We were 3 minutes from the beach and saw the sunrise on sunday morning. We certainly plan to return and try for an even better upgrade if possible!
