The Atrium Hotel

San Francisco International Airport Area San Bruno|1.15km from Peninsula Museum of Art
I needed a place close to the airport just for one night bc my flight would come in too late for the rental car counters to be open. I wanted it to be inexpensive, less than $20 cab ride from l SFO, have a free shuttle to airport in the morning so I could get my rental car. This fit the bill, plus has free breakfast. However, I can’t give it more than three stars. It’s really run down in a not very good neighborhood. Loud clanky elevator. Paint chipped lots of places. Paper stuffed in the security peephole in the door? loud planes constantly flying overhead because this hotel is right in the flight path and very close. I could hear a guest snoring in the room next to us. This is just a convenient place to park yourself overnight if you need to be super close to SFO. I met a family on the shuttle that frequently uses this hotel before and after cruises just to be close to the airport, but they cautioned that this was not a safe area to walk around. All that being said, the front desk staffer (same guy for late night and morning) was super nice and helpful. In fact, it’s because of him that I booked the room. Other hotels around would only send me to a call center and wouldn’t assure me I could get in the room if my midnight flight came in late at 1 or 2AM. This guy actually talked to me as I was making the reservation and said “I will be here and I will let you in” he also gave me the tip that a cab is about $15 whereas Uber is $30-40 to get threre.

The environment is good, the hotel is quite big, the surrounding along the coastline is good, just watching the plane take off and landing at San Francisco Airport. Hotel room hygiene can. It is the reception service in general, especially a small Asian girl, with a very bad attitude and a look of carelessness, especially for the disdain shown by Chinese guests.

Everyone was super nice and it was very clean and they really tried their best to accommodate wishes. It is supposed to be in airport hotel so the location is not really close to anything it's at least 15 miles away from most of the attractions. It's in a very quiet area and you can go outside and walk near the large bodies of water. They also have a luggage room which you can use free of charge and is very secure. They do have water but they just have bottled water in the fridge at the front desk so you should kind of purchase your own water and advance otherwise if you get thirsty during the middle denied or something then you don't have. They did have a microwave which was nice and a bathtub which was very clean. I Their breakfast was very sp**** and also not good if you have sensitivities or allergies because it was basically just cereal milk coffee juice a pancake/waffle maker and 1 or 2 different types of eggs and maybe a sausage. They also have bread that you can toast but realistically if you're a gluten free or you can't eat sugars or if you're diabetic then you should plan not to have the breakfast. Also some of the breakfast was actually very cold but they really try their best and they're very very nice and kind the staff I mean.

I requested for non-smoking room since I have bad Allergy, they gave to me the room that smoked in bathroom before me and it was smelly cigarette. I called them to let them know, all they said was Oh! Not even apologizing, not even offering the room change. I tried to open the window but even the window can not be open . 2nd problem with this hotel, they won’t give you any shower cap, very basic bath item that all the hotels provide. I was in this hotel 4 weeks ago and they provided but this time they said they don’t have any more. 3 rd problem with this hotel is if you try to call the front desk from the room using room phone , they don’t answer but if you use your own phone and call they answer. 4 issue with this hotel is they advertise free Wi-Fi but the network speed is too weak so you have to purchase the Wi-Fi . All and all this is not good hotel to stay. I will never recommend this hotel. The quality of the room and service for what they charge is very awful. You better go with Hilton brand itself not Garden inn.

I went to the front desk 4 times and paid more money to get a sea view room. You can see planes taking off and landing, but it's a bit noisy during the day. The surrounding environment is not bad. It is a 10-minute walk from a famous Chinese restaurant. There is also a very good lobster restaurant nearby. The services and facilities are average, and the lower-level waiters don't understand English.

The room was really nice and everything was clean. The hotel is in a good location. The lady at the front desk was really nice and even allowed me to check in early. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars on service is because I emailed in advance to get instructions on how to catch the airport shuttle from the airport to the hotel, but I never received a reply. Outside of that, everything was really good. I would stay here again.

The hotel is close to the airport, with convenient transportation and good services. And there is a free airport shuttle bus to pick you up. I recommend everyone to stay in this hotel. It is highly recommended.
