The location is right on the ocean and is wonderful. The buildings are in traditional Balinese style. We had the 2 bedroom villa, not sure why as it was just 2 of us. It had a wonderful porch with daybed as well as a large green space oceanfront . The staff are very friendly and helpful but seem to be a bit disgruntled as they had very little hours of work. We noted that none of the staff called us by name. We we’re identified by our room. There was a yoga pavilion that was used by a private group, so there was no opportunity offered to the other guests. It would have also been helpful to have an orientation when we got there, for example we did not know about Happy Hour until about 3 days in. A few things to consider to make this prime location a 5 star are the following. The mattress was super uncomfortable, we had backaches every morning. The buildings, although charming, could use updating. Ie, our toilet broke 2x. We we’re there 8 days and the breakfast became same old same old. Dinner menu could have incorporated a daily chef special. Right on the ocean, you’d think a catch of the day would be lovely. The resort attracts many” charming Germans” tourist. Let’s just say not a lot of opportunities to connect with the other guests. Perhaps expand the promotion to other countries. We saw a gym and gift shop, neither was open or accessible. No explanation given. The one thing that upset us the most that we we’re told ahead of time that we couldn’t get a taxi from the airport to the resort as it’s 3 hour drive. We found out later that indeed you can for a much lesser price. Taxi charges about $50 verses resort $120. This dishonesty will make us not return. Overall, we had a pleasant stay.
