Have stayed here often in that past fifteen years, ideal for a peaceful laid back holiday. Staff are very professional and the food and service is second to none , a golfers hotel but you don’t have play to enjoy this place. Ideal hotel to explore the Algarve from.

Trip date 27th feb to 2nd march Group of 10 We have returned to Penina after a8 year absence and found the course to be in a Very. Good condition dispite all the. Negative reviews in the past few months The championship course was lush and green and the. Greens were well maintained the. 9 golfers enjoyed the course . The hotels was spotlessly clean rooms were as good as ever Also the. Breakfast was good and plenty of choice . Check in was painless very smooth And as ever the staff at the hotel from the front desk to the pro shop were. Pleasant and very helpful and we will be back. In 2025

We’ve recently returned from another very relaxing week of golf at Penina. The Championship course is back to its best with lush fairways and immaculate greens. Although not ultra modern the hotel has so much character and is very comfortable. There is a high standard of friendly service throughout the hotel , from reception to house keeping to dining and to golf shop. We have already booked our return trip.th

Hotel was very clean, breakfast has everything, coffee great. Room was very comfortable and beds are great. Golf course was in the best condition it has been for many years, greens were very quick (too quick for me). But best of all, the staff are so pleasant and accommodating, nothing too much trouble.

Can only comment on our experience and it's a beautiful hotel. Reception staff are very attentive as are pool staff also. Breakfast is a very good standard and nothing is too much trouble for the waiters/waitresses. The hotel upgraded our room upon arrival to a top floor studio which was lovely and cleaned every day. The pool is absolutely huge and no problem with the sunbed availability either. Shuttle cab to and from Alvor beach always on time. Don't be put of by negative reviews - this is a great hotel and the uber cost to & from the hotel of an evening was between 5 & 12 euros on average and never a problem in ordering one. Thank you Penina for a truly wonderful holiday !

No Wifi for android appliances. I was in a large group of golfers. I gave my phone to the front desk who didn't know why the Wifi wasn't working. They said they would escalate the problem. I was there for 6 days and they never got back to me or sorted the problem. Several in my group had the same problem and referred to their personal data during the week. Totally unacceptable for a resort like this.

We stayed here for a family holiday and had a fabulous stay. The staff were unbelievably attentive, helpful, lovely and funny. They remember your name, your likes/dislikes and couldn’t be more friendly. The food was delicious and they have a good range, they even did an outdoor bbq one night we were there which was lovely. My personal favourite was the breakfast, the options were so fresh, constantly topped up and there was always staff around to help with anything you need. They make fresh omelettes in front of you as well which I had every morning! We can’t wait to go back!

This hotel was established in the 60's so may not be fresh but has history, atmosphere and experience at getting it right 😁🏌️♂️ The staff were friendly, the hotel is clean and tidy and the breakfast is excellent. Hope to return soon 👍
