Hongcun village | Huang Shan

Discover the soaring cliffs and cloud-wreathed peaks of magnificent Huang Shan. Spend day one exploring the Song Dynasty Huizhou architecture of Tunxi Old Street in Huangshan City. The next morning visit beautiful Hongcun Village before ascending Huang Shan by cable car and witness firsthand the incredible landscape that has inspired countless Chinese poems and paintings. Sleep atop the mountain for two nights amongst the hanging mists and clustered pines and see the unforgettable sunrise over the misty mountain tops. On day four, head back down to earth with the Hu Kaiwen Ink Factory your last stop on the tour.


Day 1 Huangshan airport/train station pickup

Tunxi Old Street (Túnxī Lǎojiē, 屯溪老街) (about 2 hours)

Located in Túnxī (屯溪), the central district of Huangshan City, Tunxi Old Street is a stone pedestrian street lined with old shops and restaurants in restored buildings, some originally dating back to the Song Dynasty, done in the traditional style of the region's Huizhou culture.

Stay overnight at the downtown hotel you've arranged in Huangshan. (Accommodation fee is not included in the price.)

Day 2 Hongcun-Huang Shan (includes lunch)

Hongcun village (Hóng Cūn, 宏村) (about 2 hours)

A charming traditional Huizhou village, Hongcun is best known as the film site of the Oscar-winning film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. You'll be able to bike around the village with your guide and also visit a local family where you'll have the chance to gain a better understanding of the life and traditions of the local people.

Huang shan (Yellow Mountain, Huáng Shān, 黄山) (about 5 hours)

The craggy rock faces, hanging mists and clustered pines of Huang Shan create a lovely and distinctly Chinese landscape, one instantly recognizable from countless images on silk, paper and porcelain. The mountain range, consisting of some 70 peaks over 1,000 m (3,300 ft), spills across the southern province of Anhui in an exquisite jumble of scenic highlights—twisted lone pines clinging to stony spires, seas of clouds filling rugged valleys, and crystalline mountain spring-fed pools.

Climb up the mountain by Yungu cable car.

Visit the Brightness Summit (Guāngmíng Dǐng, 光明顶) before arrive in your hotel.

Stay overnight at the hotel you've arranged on Huang Shan.

Day 3 Huang Shan (includes lunch)

Early in the morning, enjoy a breath-taking sunrise over Huang Shan.

After that, go back to hotel and enjoy breakfast.

Enjoy stunning views from several viewpoints such as Paiyun pavilion (Páiyún Tíng, 排云亭) and Feilai Stone (Fēilái Shí, 飞来石).

Day 4 Huang Shan-Huangshan departure (includes lunch)

Early in the morning, enjoy a breath-taking sunrise over Huang Shan.

After that, go back to hotel and enjoy breakfast (not included in price).

Enjoy stunning views from several viewpoints such as Shixin Peak (Shǐxìn Fēng, 始信峰), Lion Peak (Shīzǐ Fēng, 狮子峰) and A Monkey Gaping at the sea (Hóuzī Guān Hǎi, 猴子观海).

Descend the mountain by Yungu cable car, and then drive back to Huangshan city.

Back in Huangshan city (Tunxi) you'll visit the Hukaiwen Chinese ink stick factory to find out how Anhui's famous calligraphy and painting ink sticks are made, or the Huizhou Culture Museum to learn about the local region's distinctive Huizhou culture. The itinerary is flexible depending on your train/flight.

After the tour ends, you'll be transferred to the airport/station for departure.

1.Please call or email Ctrip if you need to cancel your booking. Free cancellation for bookings cancelled at least 3 days in advance. If you cancel 2 days or less before your visit, a 100% cancellation fee will be charged per booking.
*For departure dates during national holidays, If you cancel at least 7 days prior to the scheduled departure, there is no cancellation fee. If you cancel between 4 and 6 days prior, there is a 50% cancellation fee. If you cancel within 3 days prior, there is a 100% cancellation fee.

2.On departure date we will pick you up from the airport/station. Free pickup/drop-off available for downtown hotels with flights/trains arriving between 9AM-10PM, otherwise an additional charge applies. You will be contacted before 11:00 p.m. the day before your scheduled activity to confirm pickup information regarding your driver and/or tour guide. 3.Currently payment is only accepted by credit card. Once payment clears, Ctrip will send you a confirmation email with your booking details. If payment fails, your booking will automatically be canceled. To ensure a smooth payment process, we recommend you contact your credit card provider in advance.

4.Time arrangements described in itineraries are subject to change. Guides reserve the right to change arrangements according to weather, transportation and other variable conditions.

5.If you opt to join only part of this activity, you forfeit the right to join subsequent parts, as well as the right to receive a refund for any part of the activity that you miss.

6.All listed meals are Chinese food unless otherwise noted. Please notify us ahead of time for any dietary restrictions (allergies, vegetarian, kosher, etc.).
