Although we had originally booked at the Xi’an Renmin Dasha, Building 3 - the front desk kindly upgraded us to the Grand Mercure Renmin Square (Building 2). We were happy with our rooms and the facilities the hotel provided. My children were especially pleased that they could use the nearby Sofitel swimming pool. The breakfast staff in the restaurant were particularly polite and attentive, and we enjoyed the coffee, croissants, baguette, fruit, yoghurt and omelettes on offer. The restaurant had a good selection of continental and Chinese breakfast fare, plus British-style bacon and eggs! All the Accor hotels around Renmin Square are very centrally located and situated in beautiful historic buildings. It was easy to access the Xi’an Metro and travel around the city.

The room is very comfortable and there is free parking in the parking lot. However, the slippers in the room are all disposable and there are no ordinary sandals, which is a bit inconvenient, especially when taking a shower. There is a peculiar smell in the bathroom. It may be caused by the rain. I'm not sure. However, the front desk is responsive to all requests, the service is very good, and the location is good. It is close to the bus stop and a little far from the subway station. It is very fast if you ride a bicycle. There are no shared trams in Xi'an, which is not convenient if you are bringing children. Generally speaking, it is in line with the price and relatively comfortable.
