We spent two nights here and could not fault the service from the moment we arrived when our car was whisked away and valet parked to all of the delightful lotions, potions and traditional Japanese clothing provided in our room. We had a large room with beautiful tatami mats throughout - the smell is magical - and everything was scrupulously clean. The entire ‘superior’ room included an entrance hall with fridge and tea-making facilities and some storage, a large main traditional room where our meals were served, a sitting room with western chairs and huge windows out onto the river, a western style bedroom with two double beds, and by Japanese standards a very large bathroom area with two wash basins and even two toilets. The food was amazing/incredible and we were provided with lots of diversity over the four meals we had - one of us even sneaked an omelette and toast into breakfast on our last day just by a quick question to our server. We were helped with our luggage, provided with advice on how to deal with the Kurobe Gorge Train and all in all had a wonderful experience. The one downside is that this is not a very pretty place to stay, all the ryokans here are concrete monoliths which is not unusual in Japanese onsen towns. The town itself is quaint but the draw is definitely the gorge and the hot waters which are very well worth the visit.

There were some areas that had been renovated, but overall the facility felt old. Understand what the management thinks. The food and hospitality were great, but I found it troublesome that the indoor bath and open-air bath were on separate floors.

I stayed in a barrier-free room because my husband had a stroke and had severe aftereffects of hemiparesis. I've been to other accommodations that have barrier-free rooms several times, but there is a ramp at the entrance to the guest room, a reclining bed, a handrail in the toilet, and a handrail in the bathroom, as well as a bath lift. It seems that bathing while looking at the superb view of Kurobe Gorge was the best time. I stayed 3 nights in a row, and both dinner and breakfast were so delicious that I ate too much. The response from all the staff was wonderful, and I was grateful that they prepared ahead of time for things I asked for once. There was a step between the entrance and the banquet hall, and the toilet outside the room was not barrier-free, but a slope was set up when my husband passed, so it was okay to move. Thank you for your warm hospitality. thank you very much!

I used it for the first time on my winter trip to Hokuriku. In one word, the dinner was amazing! I thought this is what a restaurant/ryokan would look like. The facility was a little old, but well maintained and clean. Also, the view from the room was very nice and I was able to fully enjoy the Kurobe Valley.

We stayed at Enraku at the end of our sightseeing in Toyama. The hospitality of a long-established ryokan, the hot spring with a superb view was the best.

The food made with Toyama ingredients is very delicious, and the drinks go well too. It was very nice to be able to eat in a private room as all measures were taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus. The baths are clean and the two open-air baths are very nice. One thing that bothers me a bit is that there are a lot of stink bugs.
