First of all, the name has been changed to "Monkey Lodge" in Tortuguero. (probably due to poor reputation - everything else at the lodge still says "Ilan Ilan"). The locals do not know if you say "Monkey Lodge" - as advertised at 3rd party booking sites. You have to take a boat taxi from Tortuguero port to this location - wait for a taxi and pay $2-3 fare. There is nothing other than the lodge at this location. You have to depend on lodge restaurant. NO Wi_Fi in any of the rooms. I had to go to the main building to check on my emails. No A/C. Ceiling fan was swaying as if it was ready to fall off. Floor standing fan didn't work. I was switched to another room.
