We traveled with three couples. Our rooms were not ready when we arrived and we felt like the checkin staff was very rude. We were repeatedly told to sit down and wait. When we got to the rooms there was no towels, the complementary items were not in the refrigerator. One couple had to end up being moved to another room because of drainage issues in the shower. There were other issues along the way that were frustrating. The food in general was very good. However, the ice machine never worked until the last day and we always had to ask for the soda machine to be turned on at breakfast.
We did enjoy the entertainment and the other staff seemed friendly. There was one young lady at the front desk that went above and beyond to be helpful when she realized our frustration.
We had a massage at the beach by locals and it was wonderful.
We had fun, but I personally feel like the managment needs to make adjustments to improve the overall experience.

This is a 5 star resort? I would give it 3. The food was ok but basically the same menu for the entire time we were there. The pasta in the Italian restaurant was crunchy. (undercooked) and the chicken was not hot. The bars had drinks but there was no gin although gin drinks were listed on their menu. One day there was no vodka. That made the drinks rather limited, so we walked to town and bought gin and tonic. The snackbar foods were things like hamburgers that sat under a light for hours, popcorn with no butter or seasonings, soggy onion rings, so the snack bar foods were not very edible. We kept saying 'well, they're trying!' The pool was nice with great seating and a short walk to the ocean. The grounds are beautiful and the room comfortable. The maid service was fantastic with cleaning and leaving daily beverages. We won't go back to this Occiental because it's not cheap and we'd rather go out to eat instead of the repetitive menu when we return to Costa Rica. The first few days were great but after maybe 3 days we felt like we were eating the same thing every day. We started walking to local restaurants for dinner. The desk staff were wonderful as was any staff member. So basically my main complaint is the food and availabilty of alcohol which to me, is part of an all inclusive experience.

The hotel is a great place to relax and chill. Not over the top nor too basic. Food sele tion is good, staff are very helpful. Nice location too.

This resort is ok - nothing outstanding, nothing terrible, average cost. Quiet, smaller resort, staff were nice, had amenities one would expect at an all inclusive, rooms could use a refresh but otherwise comfortable. Basic service levels. Food in the main buffet restaurant was great, good taste, enough variety for a small resort. Themed restaurant (Italian) was adequate.

The pool and beach access was wonderful. Contrary to other reviews we thought the food was fine. Went to the show one night and there was no bar open to order drinks, possibly you could order at the disco to bring out to show. Easy to get a taxi to town or walk. Jucy is wonderful for any questions or excursions you would like to plan. Rooms are older but suited our needs, AC worked great however we had a few times where there was no hot water for showering. Assuming busy time. For the price can’t complain this resort met our needs and we had a great trip.

Long wait to check in. The room was not clean, no bath towels, sink was leaking, toilet not shutting off, the refrigerator was not stocked and the AC stopped working. The food was ok. The Italian restaurant food was unacceptable someone needs to teach them how to cook.
