Nestled in an enviable location, this hotel has rightfully earned its popularity among locals. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a team of amiable staff who extended a warm welcome. The breakfast buffet was exceptional, and we highly recommend trying the in-house nasi goreng. The spacious rooms, while lacking in some amenities, were otherwise comfortable. However, we did notice a slight odor of dampness and dust that was slightly unpleasant. One minor quibble we had was with the lighting - the dimming lights were not strong enough to provide sufficient illumination, especially after sunset. Additionally, we were disappointed to find only one pair of slippers provided in the room despite booking for two guests in each of our two rooms. Was this a cost-cutting measure? Our biggest issue arose when we arranged for the hotel's car service to take us to the airport upon departure. The driver first dropped off our parents at the domestic terminal, but it wasn't until later that he informed us of an additional charge to take us to the international terminal - despite the short distance between them. We had already paid a premium for the hotel's chartered car service, and it was disappointing that the driver did not disclose this additional charge upfront. While we understand the importance of profit margins, we believe it's essential to prioritize transparency and honesty with guests. Overall, this hotel was a decent choice for the price we paid. Despite the minor drawbacks, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the friendly staff and excellent breakfast.

We hesitated at first to stay in this hotel. It's an old hotel (started to be built in 1979) and the building's exterior looks so shabby. The hotel was affected by Covid-19, too, so we know to not set the bar too high for this hotel. Well, when we arrived at the lobby, we could really see the 90's vibes, glamorous hotel at that time. Check in was easy and fast, and surprisingly there were still so many employees working for this hotel. This place was more alive than I thought it would be. The room was good, not exquisite but I can see that it was designed well and was very nice initially. The AC worked well, hot water and water pressure were nice, but the bathroom door was jammed. And the bathtub had black stains (or maybe chipped). The sheets, blanket, and towel all had some stains but I'm sure they were all washed clean. The pillow smelled bad, like musty or damp, but we asked to be replaced and got the fresh ones. Amenities were just okay. No slippers, soap and shampoo were very standard, but they provided a safe deposit box, electric kettle, and coffee/tea. The view outside was amazing, we could see the heart of Surabaya from above, sitting in the japanese-styled chairs. Bed was nice, too. We slept soundly. Breakfast was great, surprisingly! We expected nothing, but turned out there were many varieties of the food, and they were all pretty good. From western to Indonesian, all great. I was happy to see all the employees there, like things are finally getting normal again. The visitors were a lot, too. I'm so relieved that they were doing great ❤️

The hotel elevator is convenient. The hallways are pretty clean. There is no strange/cigarette smell even though it's an old building. The room is a bit dark, cleanliness still needs to be improved. Needs rejuvenation... The glass windows and walls are quite dirty (some are even scrawled on). The sound of the AC is incredibly loud and the wall near the AC is right next to the bed, it feels like it's vibrating... Incidentally got a room next to the train tracks. Pretty clear sound. On the first day there was no tissue in the toilet. Day 2 just arrived. I didn't use the fridge because it smelled a bit weird and was black all around... There were slippers and leftover snacks in the area under the curtains and under the table... The bathroom is very dark and cold. The warm water has to wait a long time to come out. The sink faucet was wobbly as if it was about to come off. Jd was a bit worried when using it. The decoration in the public areas of the hotel is quite nice.

Nemu this hotel. dormitory type, but there are curtains. the roadside exactly but not noisy at all. quite cheap, and most importantly free TOwel. I'm a lazy traveler type with towels. so every time I look for a hotel, I choose a facility. free towels. His air conditioner is very cold, maybe it can be smalled a little. minimum bathroom, share 1 bathroom for 20 people on each floor. so it's a bit messy. 2nd floor bathroom exhaust is off so it's very stiff, What else is there a cigarette talking about being rich, being forced to go upstairs to find an empty bathroom, the location is very close to the station. Very strategic. The staff is friendly, overall good, the problem is in the dead bathroom exhaust and the smoke-smoking travelers sneez in the bathroom.
Tab Capsule Hotel - Kayoon Surabaya

When I was in Surabaya a few weeks ago, I tried to stay here because I saw their rooms separate between the women and the male rooms. They provide a single capsule with shared room or a double capsule with private room. There are 8 capsules and 3 small rooms. They are quite unique because they are each different from each other. One contains a shower, one a wc, and one contains a shower, a wc and a sink. Less? Obviously. But they also provide toilets outside the room on every floor. This hotel is perfect for short stays in Surabaya because at about 150 grand you can get a comfortable capsule, private TV in the capsule, easy access to the city center, free wifi, and you will also get breakfast and mineral water facilities. free for every guest. A little note that can be input during my stay here: 1. No phone in the room. So if you need anything, you have to go down to the reception or call the number that is already listed in the capsule. 2. There is no place to hang towels outside the capsule. It is not possible to hang a towel inside the capsule because the capsule itself is small and closed. And finally during the night here I was forced to hang a towel in the bathroom and it caused a bad smell in the morning.
