A wonderful family run hotel which we arrived at in the off season The welcome at reception was very comforting Our room was excellent with a R&J balcony The overall comfort of the hotel was exceptional Breakfast was served in a delightful lounge with a varied selection of food The swimming pool was clean and warm for November swimming

Lovely just what we expected for this area we would recommend it but North America visitors have to modify their expectations. It is a working class port limited for the season but we enjoyed the people very much !

Disappointed !!! I’ve been in this hotel many times and it was great (but not since they changed the owners) disappointed about the drop of quality- No restaurant anymore- the breakfast is a 3rd of what it was before and Laundry service is slow and expensive (lost clothes without apologies) Beside of this, it’s still the same hotel, rooms, pool etc.. I know now why they asked to get paid 50% at the booking and 100% 2 days before checking I do not recommend and will not go back in this hotel

Unfortunately, after the change of owner, the hotel deteriorated. We have been there twice in the past and have never had a problem with the reservation, credit card guarantee or early check-out. This time, the new owner requested a 50% transfer in advance and ordered us to pay 100% of the value for the previously missed days, during which he probably rented the rooms to someone else. Additionally, during our 8-day stay, the air conditioning did not work for 3 days. People were going to cook in the rooms... The new owner also closed the kitchen, so for dinner you have to look for a restaurant in the city (which is inconvinient and difficult on Mondays). Better to use other hotels which are closer to downtown or have own restaurant. Rooms required a renewal because you see that everything is old and in bed condition.

The hotel staff are great, friendly and helpful. Not their fault but AC was broken so they upgraded us, although ac in that room also not working.bathroom had mold in tub/shower area. Decent hotel in need of some upgrades.

Never go here. Isabelle the manager is the rudest hotel person I have met. The hotel was not at all like advertised. No AC, no restaurant, pool was a disaster. The manager and staff could not have cared less about the guests.

Room 201 ..Stayed here for two nights September 2023. Undoubtably our worst hotel stay in recent time. I found only two reviews ..Aug 23 and Oct 21.. difficult to understand why there are no reviews for this ‘top rated ‘ hotel for nearly 2 years..please draw your own conclusions.. we could have written the August 2023 review by Shaun Salter as our experience was eerily similar. AC not working (not rectified after alerting reception) . Two sockets literally hanging off the wall in our ‘deluxe’ room. Only two coat hangers provided and one cup and saucer..sadly no tea etc…tea situation rectified on approaching reception..room desperately needs total refurbishment…only one member of staff at breakfast….beware as you approach the entrance..rather a ‘bomb site’ of dislodged small bricks.. grass as tall as an ‘elephants eye’ near pool..( apologies Rodger’s and Hammerstein’…toilet bowl..please see photo…AC was the main issue and the corridors were stiflingly hot…and the room was only slightly cooler as we opened the windows..hope this review helps inform you about what you may encounter…we booked this hotel as it was ‘top rated’ on Trip Advisor!!

Where do I start? In summary this is a vastly overpriced and overrated hotel, most definitely not a 4 star establishment but a 2 star at best and more a guest house than a hotel... Firstly, On arrival we were dismayed to find one of the electrical sockets - which had two items plugged into it already - literally hanging out of the wall with the live wire exposed. This was obviously extraordinarily dangerous and I cannot believe that none of the hotel staff noticed this.. As we arrived at midnight we didn't report it to the reception until the next morning so we had to place a chair in front of it until it was fixed so our five year old couldn't go anywhere near it. We also noticed at this point that the air conditioning was not working... The next morning we reported the electrical socket and air conditioning to the reception and I to be fair they had fixed the socket upon our return the next evening. The air conditioning was still not working though, so I sent an email to reception (and never did receive a reply). it was so hot in the room that we had to (try to) sleep with the balcony door open. The next day we reported the air conditioning again at reception and was told by them that "they weren't aware of a problem with it and maybe we were setting the thermostat incorrectly" (we weren't, it's not rocket science). Again, when we returned that evening it still wasn't working. So I sent another email (again with no reply) and five minutes later there was the distinct sound of an air conditioning unit being turned on... And hey presto, the air conditioning worked perfectly. So obviously they hadn't even got the unit turned on, which they must have been aware of in order to rectify it so quickly after my second email (and 3rd complaint about it). We were informed on our arrival that there was currently NO RESTAURANT in the hotel and that only breakfast was available, apparently because the hotel is "currently changing owners"... Well, "breakfast" was a total disaster with cold eggs, plastic bacon, not much of anything else and only 1 employee to clear and reset the tables so every morning there was a wait for a table to eat cold eggs and whatever else they happened to have (or mostly not have) on the day. On our last day there the eggs were actually green (!?!) which I've never ever seen before in 50 years of eating eggs for breakfast every day. The bathroom in our room was extremely tired and in desperate need of a refit, mostly held together by globs of silicone. This was not a cheap stay (220 euros per night for a room) and I have to say that out of the hundred plus hotels that we've stayed in, this would rank in the bottom 10 of all time. Needless to say, we won't be returning and would advise anyone else against it. Show less
