I have had the pleasure of staying at many different four seasons locations, however Four Seasons Seoul was and is by far my favorite. I flew in from the US and requested a car to pick me up at the airport in Seoul and staff was waiting for me outside when I arrived. They pre checked me in since I was traveling internationally and had arranged for me to go directly to the room. The staff was thoughtful and continued to add personal touches the entire stay. The majority of the staff is multi lingual and helped to helped to arrange transportation and exterior details of my activities and appointments. They genuinely went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and extraordinary. Cannot wait to come back!

The hotel was clean and organized. The front desk was helpful and their were ladies that helped us to deliver our suitcases. I am not sure what their titles were but I just found that it was rather odd since most hotels in North America hired young men to do this. Kudos to the hotel for not type casting roles. The location was very good. The downstairs food court and restaurant was very tasty and clean. I would definitely go back to this hotel if I am ever in Korea again.

Stayed at the Lotte Executive Tower just after the holidays, in a Premier Double Room. Pros: - The entrance of the Executive Tower is absolutely beautiful. Same with the Main Tower. Elegant, refined, beautiful art work. The executive tower check-in desks are on the 15th floor. - Easy access by escalator directly into the Lotte Department Store (from where the escalator takes you to, hang a right to get to the famous food hall!) - Location can’t be beat. Directly across from Eujiro Station (1) and around the corner from Myeong-Dong Walking Street / Night Market and several 7-11s (which are almost as good as the 7-11s in Japan). - Our room was beautiful, spacious, thoughtfully designed and decorated. Very modern touches and upscale finishes. A chandelier in the bathroom?? - Immaculate housekeeping. - Excellent temperature and very strong water pressure in the shower! - Appreciate the 2 complimentary bottles of Evian every day. - Fast wifi speeds. Cons: - Love the Diptyque toiletries but wish they weren’t the communal / shared bottles. There were bits of dried lotion crusted on the pump from the previous occupant. - Weird that neither lobby had a single chair to sit on. What’s up with that? Comes off a bit inhospitable. This isn’t the type of place to attract non-guests / loiterers. A bench wouldn’t kill anyone! - For a 5* hotel and the price we’re paying, it’s disappointing that there is a surcharge should you need a toothbrush, toothpaste or use of the sauna (!!). They claim the charge for toothbrush and paste is to prevent wastage but surely you could just have these small items available upon request at the front desk? - The doormen’s manners range from formal and friendly (some) to indifferent (most) to downright hostile (many), especially if you are not a Korean speaker, as many don’t speak English. I’m not arrogant enough to think they should speak English in a non-English speaking country, but a smile is universal, you know? Would likely stay here again at the right price and given the location.

It's a good hotel on a budget. Has a very homely breakfast and water dispenser to fill up your bottles with ice and water. Also has robes to use as pyjamas. Very no frills. Don't expect service from the staff. We expected to be able to check in earlier when we reached if the room was available. We reached only about 15mins to our check in time but were told to wait at the lobby till 1600. I am not sure what the fixation is about for the check in time. If the room is available, then let the guest have it. First time we have experienced this in any country.

Service was inconsistent - sometimes the staff were really nice and friendly and other times they were plain rude and disrespectful to you. When I first entered my room the smell took me aback. It smelled like a mix of sweat and wet socks. The sheets were crumpled and weren’t super clean either. The bathtub had yellow stains which threw me off as I was looking forward to a midnight soak. Basic amenities were given, which was great. The housekeeping ladies were really sweet as well. It’s a 5 minute walking distance to the train station so location was not so bad. Sadly I don’t think I’d book again as it was not that worth for the price.

I came up to Seoul to meet my friends, and there were so many people that I was scared of the corona virus, but fortunately there are no Chinese. I stayed in a double room, but the location is also in the center of Seoul, so it is easy to move around and close to Jongno 3 and Anguk Station. I had a few days, but I can boil ramen and the boss is so kind ~~ I will come again next time :)

Hygiene is general, room space is enough to put down two 20-inch suitcases, no breakfast, I was told that the quilt was thin and made up, but I saw it today, it seems that it is like bed linen, etc. If I give a twin room Cover the next bed as well. There is a signboard cat in the guest house house. The building is from 1 floor to 4 floor, but it is watching in various places. For that reason, it seems that it is marking everywhere, and there is a smell of the whole building. It was very cute, so I never felt disgusting. It may be difficult to stay if you don't like cats. I think the big luggage is hard because there is no elevator. Double bed room use. The key to the room is hard to open. It was older than I thought, but the cleaning was firm. The shower pressure and temperature were good. Amenities include shampoo, body soap, disposable body wash towels, solid soap, large face towels (2 sheets a day), and foot wiping towels. There are no toothbrushes, tissues, pajamas. The facilities are refrigerator, TV (NHK), cooler (cooling and dehumidification only), floor warming. I didn't have a dryer, but I think I can lend it to you. I stayed for 2 nights but there was no cleaning. There was a water server on each floor and it was convenient. Breakfast is bread, strawberry jam and margarine, coffee and simple. I think it's good to take breakfast in such a place because there are many popular cafes within walking distance. Ankoku station and Kushiro 3 Street station are the nearest stations, but the bus stop in front of shotoku Gu shrine is close, and Seoul station, Lotte young Plaza (Myeongdong) and Higashi daimon gate are also convenient because they arrive immediately. The limousine bus to Incheon Airport also came out about 1 〜 2 in 1 hour (if the road is good, it seems to arrive at １ hours strong, but I can't read the time, so I don't use it this time).

I stayed at Hostel Tommy for 3 weeks. At first, my plan was to spend each week at a different place whether it was a hostel, hotel or AirB&B. However, after my first week at Hostel Tommy, there was no need for me to go anywhere else. I give Hostel Tommy 5 starts for the following reason: 1) proximity to everything. Any subway or bus that you need to go anywhere is within a 5-10 minute walking distance. I never took a taxi anywhere; and believe me, I went all over Seoul. 2) Convenience: there's a 24-hour 7-Eleven literally right next door, so anything that I needed (snacks) was just next door. 3) Lodging: the room are spacious, super clean, the beds are comfortable. The common areas were also clean and inviting. 4)Reception: Tommy and his staff are the BEST. They will help you with anything you need. I had a great time in Seoul because I never had to worry about anything regarding my stay. From now on, I will ALWAYS stay at Hostel Tommy every time I visit Seoul.

Insadong is a lively district, and the hotel is located in the heart of it. The building itself is a bit old and worn out, but everything is well maintained and the bathroom is clean and retrofuturistic. Breakfast buffet is good for Korean standards: you have a salad buffet, couple types of rice, meat items. Not much there for vegetarians and no cheese, but for Korea this is a very agreeable breakfast. In short - it’s a safe option in terms of cost efficiency, but if you book in advance you might find better options around.
