Difficult review this as I'd place it higher than a three but not a four for me. Handy for the fine beach and near the football stadium which was my reason for visiting. Easy to get to by several bus services which you pick up from near where the airport bus drops off. A few bars and some good restaurants nearby and a handy little shop for newspapers and quality bread if needed! Hotel very clean and a friendly welcome. It's an old building so no lift. My room pretty small but I knew this from research. Just me so no problem with space but bathroom a little tight and the loo has little room around it. For my three night stay it was fine. Average breakfast. If you get a good rate it's great value but if not others may offer more.

Small, friendly hotel and spotlessly clean. We stayed for four nights and had a nice time. Cost of stay was really reasonable for a nice hotel close to the beach. Breakfast was included but it was fairly minimal. Rooms are tiny and quite dated but as mentioned already very clean indeed. It was a bit of a challenge to open and close the shower room door due to such tight space! Santander itself is lovely and this area is about a 20 minute stroll for the centre. Beach is amazing but not huge amount of stuff to do.

The hotel itself is a very pretty hotel, beautiful inside, with a querky feel about it. The room we were given for two nights, was on the ground floor, in the small reception area. So quite noisy, because other visitors come and go through to their rooms. If we opened our door, it was viewable from anyone in the reception area. They advertise the rooms as smaller than average, and ours was very small. The bed is a small double and was very uncomfortable. I did not sleep well at all, nor my wife. The only view we had was the laundry room, with staff walking back and forth carrying out their duties. Not much privacy, so we had to have the window blind down at all times. Breakfast was under average. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, although the desk is not manned at all times. We recommend that you asked for a room not on the ground floor.

This place had more of a feel of a bed-and-breakfast than a hotel, minus the close attention one gets at the former. Thank goodness our room was on the first floor, so we only had to lug up the bags we'd brought for our 2-week road trip in Spain. There is no parking at the hotel, so we first needed to roll our bags two blocks from the parking spot we'd found on the street. Normally I mock Americans who complain about hotel rooms being too small, but this one was not only small but crowded with unnecessary furniture, pots of fake flowers, floor lamps, etc. There was one chair, but to access our suitcase that was in the cupboard, the person sitting in the chair had to move to the bed. The bed itself was somewhere between a full and a queen and quite soft. Upon our arrival, the floor lamp next to the bed had no bulb in it, and when we informed the front desk attendant on our way out for lunch, she asked us what type of bulb it required! Breakfast was minimal, mostly prepackaged items (we thought maybe this was due to Covid times, but all of the other hotels we visited since then offered fresh meats and cheeses, fruit, fresh oj, etc -- the usual Spanish breakfast spread). We did meet the owner at our final breakfast, a nice, chatty man who pointed out he'd made the scrambled eggs earlier that morning that were reheated in the microwave for us, and he told us that his grandfather had returned from South America with enough money to buy this house, which his grandson then turned into the "hotel." If we ever return to Santander, we'll rent one of the many vacation apar**ents that surrounded us, complete with balconies, parking lots, and I'm guessing more space.

No recomiendo
