Masaya Santa Marta

I own a tour agency and was interested in having my group stay there. Before reserving for my group, I decided to stay there for a night. I made a reservation and the person assisting me said in order for me to confirm the reservation, I had to pay a deposit. I agreed and told them to send me a payment link. I never received the link and not a word from the assistant. I checked out the hostel and decided not to reserve it for my group because it is too much of a party atmosphere for what I'm looking for and left the hostel assuming my reservation was cancelled because I never made a payment. The day after, the reservation desk wrote me saying I had to pay for the room that I never stayed in because I had "reserved" the room. How incredibly unprofessional!

Gorgeous, Classy, Beautiful Felt like a "King" 5 star resort and service. Drinks were delicious, Food offering vast and delicious. This is a classy resort at a fair price for the amenities provided. I cant say enough--- this is by far the nicest resort I've stayed at Colombia and I've traveled and stayed at over 15 different places in the same area. This is the cream of the crop. Fantastic!! The architectural structure and landscape beauty and natural surroundings is second to none! it is so beautiful here.

Great rooftop pool and lounge area, cosy and quiet rooms, very friendly and helpful staff. Another pool in lobby, quiet work space and reading lounge, book exchange. DJ music nights fun but not too late or noisy. Handy and safe luggage storage. Delish fresh fruit ice-cream for sale outside front reception

The rooms and Facilities were super clean. The staff were extremely helpful with booking The lost city trek and other excursions. common areas were excellent!! Great location close to the Ocean/ marina if you’re looking to get out on the water or boardwalk.

The service is extremely friendly and effective. Wonderful activities including free salsa lessons and Kareoke. A good free breakfast and air conditioning. Nice pool and friendly atmosphere. I'm in my 30s and was very happy with this hostel. Receptionists Miguel and Yani gave me good recommendations during my stay.

I stayed her for Christmas 2022. I rented two private rooms because I was traveling with my parents and my wife. The rooms were nice, they were very clean. The options we had for breakfast were also good, nothing fancy, but they were good and most people at the restaurant were nice. However, I would not stay there again. The area is super noisy, it's clear that we're talking about a hostel, but there's too much noise. Inside the hostel there was also a couple having a very loud conversation next to the pool late at night and no one from the hostel said anything. I texted the front desk, but still nothing happened. One of the things I probably disliked the most was the fact that there was a clear preference in terms of service and willingness when it came to assisting foreigners. At the front desk, most people barely smiled and said hello whenever we arrived (there was only one girl who was super polite and sweet). Something similar happened at the restaurant. I have stayed in many hotels around the world and I had never had this sense of "racism". I would definitely pay for an actual hotel where people are more willing to help.

We stayed here as a couple for one night before our trek to Ciudad Perdida. This hostel felt more like a luxurious hostel, especially with its decor and facilities, and so it is a bit pricier compared to other hostels. The staff were friendly and professional. Breakfast was also very delicious. Our double bed room with an ensuite bathroom was very spacious. The bed was reasonably comfortable, but don't expect hotel style comfort. The only downside was that there was only one power outlet in the room.

This Hostel just got everything I needed. I stayed there for 10 days, that long just because I have been there 2 nights 3 weeks before already. Additional to the nice bar on the roof, there is a kitchen to use for everybody (as well on the rooftop). This could be equipped better, but that’s really the only critic I can give. The Masaya Santa Marta has awesome areas to chill and relax - so it’s possible to meet people and party a bit as well as just read a book in the hammock for yourself. They even have a co-working space and good internet. And last but not least, the amazing stuff. Seriously all of them, especially the cleaning lady’s Dianis, Blanca and Caterin. Very helpful and friendly staff. Secure location. Good breakfast. Good value,but no hot water. Nice rooftop area.
