Kwa'Lilas Hotel

Port Hardy|0.31km from city center
We stayed for 2 nights while on a road trip this summer, and they have done a fabulous job of refurbishing the hotel. The Indigenous art, decor is beautiful in the lobby as well as in the room. The room was extremely clean and the bathroom toiletries were local and high quality which was a nice touch - as was the Spirit Bear coffee in the room. Our room was on the second floor facing the back, and we found the room to be quiet even though the hotel was at full capacity. We'd recommend requesting a room on the top floors - it was nice to be able to look out at the trees instead of the parking lot (which would be the case for 1st floor rooms). We ate at the pub for dinners and breakfasts and the food was excellent and fairly priced. The Kwa'Lilas Fish Fry was our favourite - but everything was delicious and generous portions. Service was excellent, and the outdoor patio was great. Lots of options for breakfast - but we loved having the fry bread! We found all the staff to be extremely helpful and friendly - in the hotel as well as in the restaurant. There was a coffee shop in the lobby which was handy for grabbing a morning coffee and pastry. The hotel is just around the corner from Save-on-Foods grocery store, so it was handy to pick up anything we needed. Compared to the prices of other hotels on Vancouver Island this summer when availability was at an all-time premium, the price was definitely fair. Parking was free and very easy - lots of space. This was hands down the nicest hotel in the Port Hardy area, and we will definitely be back.

Glen Lyon Inn

The location speaks for itself!! Walking trails are a few feet away from the front door and sensational views from the room balcony simply speak for themselves. Each morning, to be able to sit on the balcony and watch the tide roll in, eagles and all sorts of wild life all around was amazing. Even better, was the customer service I received throughout my stay. No question went unanswered and no request was too much. The room was clean and well maintained. Very happy with my stay!
