Julia´s Cabanas

My friend and I, being budget-conscious, wanted the biggest bang for our buck and we found it at Julia's Cabanas. The location is ~100 feet from the Caribbean with private cabanas within a gated/security-patrolled property. The property is ~ 30 feet from the famous Placencia sidewalk. Prior to our trip, Miss Shelly, the property manager, helped us coordinate daily excursions and communicated promptly and thoroughly. Upon arrival, she built upon her reputation by recommending additional local activities and businesses, which were all met with success. Miss Shelly, has a degree of sophistication, grace, and a sense of genuine care for others that meets and exceeds any 5-star hotel concierge. Enjoy your trip!

There is a fun music pounding bar next door that always ends by midnight. Some of the cabins can hear the music/noise. It's an awesome bar with great food! We would stay here again

The people are super nice everywhere in Belize, so no exception here, BUT if you are willing to "camp out" with no hot water and really NO WATER except for a dribble then you are good. Should be considered a "hostile" because it's tiny with no TV or amenities to name and it was filthy. It is time foor Belize to actually DO the inspections instead of just signing off on something for the money! Also, the music next door played well into the night, but we didn't mind that. They did warn us though. Very nice people!!

I pondered for some time to consider how to review this property. On one hand the on-site managers are amazing. Beautiful people, super helpful and friendly. The cabanas were pretty well kept considering the difficulty of maintaining properties on a beach. A few areas were showing some age and in need of a fresh coat of paint. But overall I'd consider the place well maintained. The big down-side was in the area of comfort. We stayed in cabana #3 which likely had the smallest kitchenette (if you could even call it that). Also had an extra single bed which left no room inside for seating. When in our room our choices were to sit on hard wood chairs on the front deck or sit on a bed. This is the room to have if you are not planning to spend hardly any time at the room. The beds were very firm and not our idea of comfortable. So nights were pretty restless. Shelly did find us some better pillows which helped and we were very appreciative. And the location, just awesome. Right between the beach and the Placencia sidewalk with an abundance of shops and restaurants nearby. To provide a more detailed rating for various aspects on our stay, here it is: Location - 5 stars Hosts - 5 Condition - 4 (for a rustic beach cabana) Wifi - 4 TV/entertainment - 0 Beach access - 5 Shopping - 5 Activities - 5 Comfort - 1 1/2 (hard bed, hard seats) Value - 4 Noise - 2 (bar next door was really loud on weekends) Climate control - 2 (AC unit under-sized and noisy)

Shelly and Taj who took care of us during our days was amazing. Hospitality was high and with Shelly and Taj:s engagement it became a warm feeling. Thanks to Shelly who supported with diving booking and Taj who gave us a lesson in harvest and quality of coconuts. (Apologies if spelling of names was wrong)

This place was perfect! Great location, amazing attentive staff, friendly guests. Great value for the price. Can't wait to come back!

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Reasonable place for the price. The bar/restaurant next door played load music till 12:00 midnight.

Excellent location and decent basic room (Room 3) but lack of natural ventilation (transparent plastic films on windows blocking the breeze). Both the AC and the fan are loud, like VERY loud. And the AC is pretty ineffective due to all the air leaking everywhere. Overall we had a nice stay, I just feel the price is high for that level of comfort.

Shelly and the rest of the staff are amazing! Very friendly and helpful.
