Novotel Phuket Kata Avista Resort and Spa

Reserved the Deluxe Seaview Room for 5D4N with my husband. From check in till check out, the service was exceptional. The receptionist (Mon) was fluent in english and escorted us to our room on the 5th floor. Unlike other hotels around, there’s an elevator in this hotel so you don’t have to worry about climbing the stairs. The bellboy also helped carry our luggage into the room and load our luggage into the car when we check out. Lobby: Cozy, with many sofas, pool table & foosball table. Room: Spacious room with partial sea view from the balcony. It also feels great to sleep on the cozy king bed after a full day tour. The TV only has cable channels, but we’re mostly outside so it wasn’t much of an issue. All the light switches & alarm clock is by the bedside which is very convenient. Smoking: They provide ashtray to smoke on the balcony. Bathroom: Spacious & clean, with bidet spray. Shower area & bathtub is separated. The water heater is easily adjustable and heats up very fast. Toiletries such as shampoo, shower gel & toothbrush is provided. Breakfast: Buffet style breakfast with Asian & Western cuisine. If you’re a muslim, do note that there are some pork dishes. You can avoid eating the porridge/bacon/meat. Surrounding: The hotel is situated on top of the hill away from the hustle & bustle. Hourly shuttle van to Kata Beach is provided for free. It’s possible to walk to the beach as it’s only 5 minutes away. However the slope is quite steep. There’s so much to explore while walking. Kata Walking Street & Karon Plaza/Beach is within walkable distance from the hotel. There’s also restaurants, ATM, minimarts, clothing stores & bars nearby. Central Phuket & Jungceylon is around 20-30 minutes by car. It takes about 1-2 hours to get here from Phuket International Airport depending on the traffic. Activities: VR games, yoga, cooking class & underwater scooter rental are available at additional cost. Staff: Very polite, friendly and fluent in English. Always greeted us with a smile. The restaurant staffs are very service oriented & housekeeping did a fantastic job in making up our room everyday. Cons: Insects on the balcony, especially lizards at night. Just close the balcony door & it won’t enter the room. Overall we enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this hotel.

Malisa Villa’s Kata

Kata Beach Phuket|0.83km from Sunset Terrace & Lounge
Upon arrival at the hotel the staff were friendly and inviting. We were checked in and given information about breakfast and room service. We were then taken to our villa by golf buggy. We were shown our villa and the various areas and controls for them and then left to settle in. We were also told the mini bar contents was free and refreshed each day (2 cabs of coke, 2 water, small pack of oreos and a kitkat). At first glance it is a lovely hotel and the pool jets were fun. On closer inspection it became disappointing and didn’t improve, more on that in a sec. At breakfast there was a menu to select one item from and the portions were massive and tasted very nice. There was also a large buffet selection you could help yourself to. Fresh tea and coffee was available upon request. On arrival we advised we had an early morning which would start before breakfast opened. We were offered a takeaway breakfast that would be waiting at reception for us. The next morning upon arrival it was apparent that the order had been forgotten. Breakfast had opened by this time and we had to quickly shove some food down us while our driver waited for us. That evening we enjoyed our pool but it wasn’t in the cleanest condition with debris at the bottom and leaves floating on the surface. On the first evening after check-in, I was walking around the villa and caught the bottom of my foot on a sharp part of the wooden floor. I did advise the staff the next morning on our way out for the day and it was fixed by the time we returned. However the injury did cause pain and irritation for the remainder of the holiday as it was on the bottom of my foot. Upon returning from our first day out we found that our room had been cleaned but they had removed our dirty towels and not replaced them with new. I had to contact reception to request fresh ones. They had also turned off the air-con that we had left on to ensure the room was cool when we returned. The following day I decided to have a bath to sooth my sun burn and found that the tap to the bath was broken and there was just a small stick pointing out for me to use to control the temp and flow. We also realised that we were lucky enough to have booked a villa with a pool, as the hotel does not have a communal one and not all villas have there own. For the rating of the hotel and the price we paid it was a little disappointing. The staff remained cheerful and helpful for the duration of our stay but the issues did dampen our experience.

Had a very bad experience with the staff which was mainly one lady that let us in. So many things went wrong. We got there on a very hot day we called her and for a second thought the hotel was closed…she came a few minutes later and let us inside but it was even hotter because it was all closed before we got there (we were the only ones in the hotel) it took her 10 minute to open up the check in area and that also meant she had to go get a computer and connect everything and wait for it to open..All that wouldn’t even be a problem if we felt welcome but we just got there and a lot was going wrong. After about half an hour that we are standing there with our bags I tried moving to the other side of the room and I tripped and hit by accident a glass picture. At last we had a room that just after we understood was on the 4 floor with no elevator just a bad morning. We tried to keep good energy and went to the beach and when we came back we saw that we didn’t have enough towels, there was no one to talk to in the area of the hotel so we called her and practically had to beg her for another towel and explain again and again that it’s not that we have enough and want another..one of us didn’t have a towel. In the rest of our stay we tried to keep communications to a minimum so we could enjoy our stay. At the last day we made sure that she knew when we want to check out because after we had a few problems we looked here and saw that people said that they didn’t get there deposit back. She was there at the time we decided on but the situation was horrible she said we broke it and didn’t apologize again and again at the end we left without the money feeling horrible and just so unwelcome. There was even more situations with the towels but I think that this is enough information. The place itself is in a nice spot and the room was also nice but the 4 floor up and down every time weren’t easy

Outdoor Inn Kata Hotel

Kata Beach Phuket|0.32km from Sunset Terrace & Lounge
The hotel is located at Kata Night Market. Consists of two buildings. In one there is a reception and a breakfast restaurant, in the other there are just rooms. We got into the second one. We didn’t expect anything good, judging by the reviews, but everything turned out to be not so bad, it could have been worse. On the plus side: the room is quite clean, clean plumbing, shower, there is always hot water, the air conditioner is new, there is a TV and a thermopot instead of a kettle, tea, coffee, two shampoos and microsoap, two 0.5 bottles of water are given every day, even if they don’t clean in the room. The double bed consists of two single beds put together and a double mattress on top, which is quite good. Wi-Fi is normal, enough for social networks. Available in the lobby, restaurant and in the room. Within walking distance there is an evening market (we live there 😆), fruits, cafes, exchangers and excursions. The beaches of Kata, Karon and Kata Noi are nearby. Of the minuses: at first we were checked into a room with a broken, dirty old air conditioner, without a TV. As it turned out, the air conditioner was immediately beyond repair (in the corridor they caught specialists who were filling the air conditioner with freon in another room), so they immediately moved to another one. There are only two towels, one is ok, the other is terrible, fortunately we took our own from home, plus a towel for our feet. The bedding is surprisingly normal, although they also took their own🤣, after reading the reviews, but the frill on the bottom of the mattress is fear and horror, I don’t even want to guess about the origin of the stains on it🤦‍♀️ There is no mirror in the room, only in the bathroom. The wardrobe is large, but there are no shelves. There are no nightstands by the bed, which is inconvenient. Sound insulation is poor, as if the window is open all the time. It is only possible to sleep with earplugs. The windows from our 441st room overlooked the road. It's noisy all the time. Something like that. They wouldn't take it a second time.

A little episode, I booked two rooms, and as a result, she only had one room! Bring us to another house diagonally opposite, the condition that took us to go is better than her home, and I can't wait for the difference in the room after communicating with Ctrip customer service. No room to stay, so there is nothing to evaluate, the picture below is the actual hotel, the room is clean, spacious, with balcony, single bed room, the bed is 2.2 meters wide and quiet

Ibis Kata is located nearby Kata beach. The hotel has been around for a while, providing many bedrooms and lots of activities. The hotel itself is abit dated. Reception always get busy. Swimming pool area and breakfast area is pretty decent. There's also a shuttle van from hotel to kata beach and back (5 times a day). Although it is walkable distance too (have to walk around club med area). The telephone in our room is not working during the stay though. And also one of the elevator is out of service during the time as well. Anything else is decent and quite good. The bar lobby area is good for mingle with friends and families. There is also a taxi service from hotel to the airport, you can simply book in advance with the reception team. It is 1000.00 Thai Baht. Special shout out to K. Rujiret (Asst. Front Office Manager) and the crew for being so friendly and going extra miles to help each customer's request.

The room was okay and the location was good. We stayed for a month but what really spoilt it were the staff who were less than helpful. For most of the time there were three staff sat behind ther front desk always playing with their phones and certainly not prepared to go out of their way to help. They were unable to help even with the most simple of requests like a Iron or a few clothes hangers or to print a flight ticket. Also the cleaners were extremely noisy shouting to each other early in the morning outside our door which was annoying. Swimming pool very small and the decking around the pool was in bad repair
