After reading some of the recent negative reviews, felt I should leave my opinion on our last visit to the Damon. This was our 3rd time staying here. Check in was quick and the lady was very friendly and helpful. We had a room at the front of the hotel overlooking the road. Room was spacious and clean, although the air con could possibly do with a clean maybe as it had a bad smell when it was on, especially when it was first turned on. Room was equipped with kettle /fridge , although the fridge didn’t stay on once the room card was removed, which meant you couldn’t leave milk or anything in there. Hotel hadn’t changed much from our last visit, some new faces on the staff, but some familiar faces too. We always use the pool at the back which is quieter, although this year the bar seemed to be permanently closed at this pool, maybe staffing levels?, but didn’t really matter to us anyway. Always plenty of sun loungers and lots of new ones added which was a nice touch. Food was great as always. Really don’t see what people’s bad reviews are about. The only slight disappointment this year from previous, is the puddings..as a bit of a cake lover, there definitely wasn’t the same choice as previous stays here..other than that, can’t really complain. Maybe people need to remember this is not a five star hotel when leaving poor reviews. Some people expect way too much for what they pay. The Damon is a very good 3 star though and we love it here! We have already booked our return to the Damon , thank you for a lovely holiday!
