I heard that the renovation work was completed in mid-July and the hotel reopened, so this time I stayed in a newly created room called the "Capitan Room."
It was the largest room on the top floor, so we used the space lavishly.
The inside of the room was characterized by an exotic design that incorporated elements of Japanese and Dutch culture, and although it was a design and construction that you would not find in a normal hotel, the room itself was comfortable.
Breakfast was a delicious buffet with a wide variety of Nagasaki local menu items.
It was a hotel I would like to stay at when I go to Nagasaki again.
*Kapitan is the name by which the head of the Dutch trading post in Dejima, Nagasaki was called by the Japanese during the Edo period. It is said that the residence of the chief executive, the ``commercial director,'' was called the Captain Room.
