Royal Palm Beachcomber Luxury

This was an amazing place, beautiful beaches, delicious food, nice pools, good range of activities available and a lovely spa. The resort had really thought of everything, and anything else you requested was never too much trouble. The staff were friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome and special. I would recommend it to anyone, and we will definitely be returning in the future if we can. Five stars, if you have the chance, go!

We spend a night at this prestigious and luxurious hotel, it was worth every moment of it. From the welcome to the room orientation, the outstanding room amenities to the staff friendliness and smile. Without a shadow of a doubt, the highlight was our dinner at Ischia, the food was delicious along with an impeccable service. Thank you Jimmy and the star of the show; Chef Ivan! I would recommend this wonderful establishment to anyone who want to experience luxury.

We had an amazing time at Royal Palm. The beach is very beautiful with crystal clear water, soft white sand and swimming in a calm lagoon. Honestly, one of the best beaches attached to a hotel I ever have visited and I have travelled all over the world..The service at the beach was great, very comfortable chairs. We also went on snorkeling boat twice which we really enjoyed and staff at the boathouse were great. The breakfast was great with high quality, even a glass of champagne. The view from breakfast is honestly to die for. Room is very nice decorated with elegant colours and bed the most comfortable at our Mauritius holiday. Housekeeping did a great job. Every day fresh in all certain ways and nothing forgotten. I would honestly say this is one of the best hotels I visited world wide. There are only a few hotels which make you such relaxed and happy and a feeling of never want to leave. I really do hope I come back one day even if trip from Sweden is long, it will be worth it. Thank you to guest relations Caroline who made our anniversary and my partners 50th celebration at same tome, memorable with efforts from hotel side. We really appreciate it. On arrival at the Royal Palm we were greeted by courteous and happy staff. The Royal Palm is a magnificent hotel in a stunning location. Many thanks to Jean - Luc Laurent and Rishi for cooking us delicious fish curry. A special thanks to Aavishkaar for his outstanding and professional service during dinners in La Goelette restaurant. A beautiful hotel complex in Paradis, we were so happy here. The entire team is sensational! The food and the selection of good wines are outstanding. The whole concept is absolutely coherent. The rooms are very large and modernly furnished. Nothing is missing here. A thousand thanks

We stayed at Royal Palm several times in the last 25 years. While our last visit was strongly influenced by COVID this time we were surprised by a mismatch of our former experiences and a new reality. Of course: the location, the beach etc is still second to none. But: too often we heard „we/I apologise“. What was going wrong? Nearly every service provided by the Restaurant-, Front-Desk-, room-service or SPA-teams suffered from desorganisation, forgetfulness and a to big lack of knowledge. What had changed so greatly compared to our former stays? Obviously a visible Management seemingly does not exist There are too many of the staff occupied with the same tasks resulting in no visual effect. All services provided wavered between sherperding the customer as a king and forgetting things to be done. All in all the service lacked consistence. The complete „look and feel“ of Royal Palm is irritatingly accidental. . In the first days of our stay we took it with humour. But after a couple of days it started annoying us. And over and over we heard „I apologise“ or „I‘m sorry“ alternatively. A remark regarding the Restaurants:: Concerning the worldwide trend prefering vegeterian food Royal Palm is not matching the „Zeitgeist“ of modern european cuisine.. Beyond that the menues are not changing beside a daily small supplement. And please don‘t ask the staff about details of the menue. You will get no answer. So we left the hotel several times to enjoy outside dining. We also observed a partly bad maintenance-level of our suite. It was no LHW Standard. On our departure day we noticed three characteristic issues: 1. for breakfast the waiter assigned us a table which obviously was not refreshed. after making a complaint about dirty spots on the cloth the waiter put a cover on this dirty spot. We requested to move to another table. 2. one day before our departure we asked to pick up our luggage next day at 1:15 pm. At the appointed time no one came. We waited until past 13.30. Then we called the front desk: Again: „we apologize“. 3. leaving the hotel heading to the airport the deputy concierge (by the way a friendly guy) was the only one to see us off. In our 15 night stay we never saw a menmber of the senior managent. This is the main reason for the decreasing Level of the former 6 star hotel. Royal Palm is deserving the Image of times past but is not fulfilling the promise of an up to date luxury destination. The Lux Hotel in the neighbourhood is setting the state of the art standard. This was our last visit at the Royal Palm. It’s a shame.

Let me start by saying that there is no wrong choice between Royal Palm and Prince Maurice. Both institutions are outstanding. But while the Prince Maurice was princely, the Royal Palm was royal. I can therefore only explain the better ranking of Prince Maurice on Tripadvisor by the fact that these two hotels have a different clientele. The beach at Royal Palm is hands on superior. There is just no comparison as it is one of the most beautiful beaches in Mauritius while the beach at Prince Maurice is in a lagoon (not great for swimming) and overlooking windmills. The food (which is important for us) is also clearly better at Royal Palm. Indeed while the restaurants at Prince Maurice are good, there are inconsistent in quality. Barachois is generally better but there is no consistency in the quality of the dishes. And while the wine list is almost unbeatable at Prince Maurice, the sommeliers do not know it, except of course for Jorald who is great in any respect. In the end, we really enjoyed both hotels but Royal Palm was better on every aspect except the main entrance (which is much nicer at Prince Maurice) and the check in.

Our stay at Royal Palm was excellent, the staff were attentive to our every need, and even accommodated us to our own menu. Special mention to Sarah from the breakfast who organized some typical Mauritian cuisine, including deserts. The Royal Grill was excellent for diner, with the chef in Attendance was very approachable and friendly. Apologies, i cannot remember his name, but he is French and has been in Mauritius for 2 years. We are already planning our holidays there next year!

The Royal Palm is undoubtedly the most majestic in Mauritius. The welcome is perfect, the teams always available and always accessible. As a member of the club, you feel at home there, the sports facilities are recent, the setting is perfect. The Fitness team is always available and supports us in our progress. It’s a real happiness that we wouldn’t want to share :).
