Best Five Star Hotels in Luang Prabang

Environment: rice fields, cicadas chirping, but no mosquitoes beside the paddy fields. Waking up early to bask in the warmth of the swimming pool with a hint of coolness in the morning, looking at the green rice fields, the mist-shrouded mountains in the distance, the clear blue sky and white clouds, I felt that there was a vivid memory on my life list. Room: The air conditioning is sufficient and there is no noise. There is also a fragrance system, and the high roof space makes people relax. The equipment is well-equipped and very new. I fell asleep on the first night without much fuss as I was in an area where bed trouble was most common when I was on a business trip. Service and breakfast: Very welcoming. There was a problem with the hot water on the first night. I called the front desk and sent someone to fix it immediately. There is a free shuttle to town. The breakfast is rich, especially the local millet noodles. Overall review: :) I don’t want to give a good review, because I’m afraid you might raise the price next time if you know more.

When our driver pulled up to the hotel by a rickety bridge over the river, we were a bit nervous as the hotel looks tiny from the outside. What we thought was the hotel was actually the lobby and the hotel is actually quite large and sprawling with buildings and bungalows scattered next to the river. The hotel has a lovely infinity pool by the river with a lounge chairs, beach towels and an affordable pool bar with snacks for sale. The rooms were spacious with large balconies. The toilet was by the front door so you had to exit the WC walk around the corner to the bathroom to wash your hands - sort of a weird set up, but did help in the morning for 2 people to get ready. This was the only hotel we stayed in with dual sinks and a long vanity so excellent for 2 travelers and a big plus! The shower was a walk in so east access. The hotel also has a restaurant where breakfast (included) is served in the morning. Unfortunately it was a buffet with limited options and the food that was supposed to be hot was always cold and unappetizing. The hotel uses tiny candles to try to keep the food warm but this method does not work at all. The hotel no longer has a shuttle to town which is a negative as you need to walk across a scary rickety bridge to get to town. The hotel does not have a gym which is a requirement, in my opinion, if you want to be a 5 star resort. My only other comment to management is to find a few better English speaking employees as we had difficulty communicating with staff. Yes we know we are in Laos and should learn to speak their language but I feel when you cater to tourists you need a few people in each area to speak the universal language for business. We did enjoy our stay and can recommend this hotel to others.

Just came back from a 3 night stay at Kiridara. Overall a pleasant stay. Positives: -The bed was very large and comfortable. Great pillows and mattress. -Stayed in the King Suite - a very spacious room, well appointed with big balcony, bath, and nice view into town -Free shuttle service offered into town. Available on a moment's notice and they will drop you wherever you ask. They will even come and pick you up in town if you call them. -Very friendly front desk staff - helpful and always ask about your day -The manager was also very kind, was very visible and always stopped to check in with how things were going. -It is well known by locals so the tuk tuk drivers always knew exactly where to take us when asked Negatives: -The fitness centre was not very well appointed. Could definitely use an update on the equipment -There was not much hot water - the water would run cold before the bath was even half filled up, shower often went cold after a few minutes use -Ongoing construction happening during our stay as they are rebuilding the deck. Was a bit of a nuisance. When laying by the pool, the smoke from welding would drift over us, workers smoking while we were trying to relax, and banging noises beginning early in the morning (6:30 AM) -The pool bar is meant to be open from 2 - 8 PM, with happy hour from 5-6, but there was rarely anyone staffing the bar. One day when the manager came out, someone rushed to the bar and switched on the music. Would have been nice to have had the availability and ambience of music while we were relaxing by the pool. -Massage: My partner and I each book a massage on separate days. In both of our sessions, the masseuse would leave the room for 10-15 minutes at a time without any word about what was happening or why. Though we paid for 100 minutes, we ended up getting far less because of these long pauses. -Small complaint, but for the price we paid relative to most properties in Luang Prabang, I would have expected higher quality toilet paper - it was basically sandpaper. Had to buy our own. -The breakfast buffet was disappointing - food was not restocked and the hot food was cold by the time we would arrive around 8:30-9. Some periodic freshening up of the buffet would have been a nice touch. -The safe in our room did not work. -The instant coffee in the room was not restocked each day during cleaning. A small thing, but it's a lot of these little touches that make a big difference in a stay. Overall we had a pleasant stay, but there are a few small issues that need to be resolved to really make the property a truly wonderful experience. There's a lot of potential here.

During the National Day holiday, I chose this hotel on the Mekong River as my first stop on the China-Laos Railway. The room rate of 500+ RMB during the long holiday was quite a deal. However, the hotel is located in a rural area and the surrounding area is underdeveloped. The breakfast area is adjacent to the Mekong River. There may be something missing. We negotiated with the front desk for a long time because of a bath towel we had never seen before. Although it was solved perfectly and the attitude of the staff was very good, it took a while. Shuttle bus service: The hotel is located in a remote location, so you can only rely on shuttle buses to get into the city, but the number of buses is a little less. In addition, transportation suggestions from the train station to the hotel should be implemented in advance. The minivan from the train station cannot reach the hotel, so we spent 400,000 to charter a car alone.

My partner and I had a wonderful time at Amantaka in December this year. The whole city has just bounced back from the pandemic so I had a little expectation when coming to Luang Prabang this year. However, everything at the resort was exceptional, from the moment we were greeted at the airport, to when we were warmly greeted by the members of staff as we arrive at the moment, and when we left the resort. The property was converted from a historic building but was very well maintained. It has a classic and subtle charm and feels very cosy and intimate. Don't forget to use the Bath House that with a private pool, steamed room and sauna. Thank you Amantaka team for exceptional hospitality and I will be back again!

The number of Pioneer standard rooms set during the National Day period is only over 700. Although the hotel is not in the city center, it takes a few minutes to get there by taxi at 50,000 TT. It was so comfortable entering the room, with Southeast Asian wooden interiors and comfortable bedding. At around 6:30 in the morning, there is a charity at the intersection where you turn right in front of the hotel. There are almost no tourists, and there is no need to go near Foreigner Street after 5 o'clock. The breakfast was great. We brought two children and there was no separate charge.
