Hotels near Wimbledon, London

My partner and I recently stayed here as it was close to the theatre. We had other options of the Premier Inn nearer to the venue, but chanced the Antoinette as parking was available. So glad we took the chance. On arrival the reception staff were very welcoming and even upgraded our room to an executive room. The room itself was very clean and comfortable with the facilities in the room more than you'd expect from the cost of the room. With only a 6 minute walk to the theatre we used this to our advantage by coming and going to the local restaurants. The only lwt down was there was not a restaurant within the hotel as we'd have loved to experience and evening meal there too, but the local Persian restaurant was a first with lovely food. We will definitely stay here again and again as we have looked at more shows to see at the New Wimbledon Theatre.

Sarah Dacey 1/5 a week ago on Google This place should be shut down. Upon your arrival you are instantly locked out as this is not a manned place. I can’t even call it a Hotel. You literally have to wait for somebody to let you in, Within an hour if you’re lucky. The room!!! My god. I’ve had better camping trips. On opening the room door (after a 50 minute wait outside and a 5 hour drive ) we were met with a dirty quilt left rolled up on a disgustingly dirty bed ( hair and filth all over it ). There were wet used towels and dirty bedding left on the side table. No one was available to do anything about it. They do not cook breakfast ( not that I would eat there ) so that’s a complete lie and you’re paying for it. The blinds on the windows have been fitted by Stevie Wonder and don’t open or close. The place is run down and generally filthy. The water is constantly freezing cold and your unable to shower. Even the electric was off. So at times we had cold water with no electricity. The owner is the most disgusting and rude person I’ve ever met and will not converse or do anything about your situation. PLEASE DON’T BOOK HERE. You’d be better off sleeping in your car. !!! It’s vile and unsafe. I paid £800 for an executive room for 7 days to be close to my partner who had an operation in a local hospital. NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN. You will be ignored by anyone that occasionally works there. A DISGRACEFUL EXPERIENCE!!! The 1 stars I have given it are actually minus 10 and more. 1 star is way too good for the place. Overall, my stay at Dreamtel London Kensington Hotel was a mixed experience. The location of the hotel is fantastic, making it convenient to explore the vibrant neighborhood and nearby attractions. However, I was disappointed with the amenities provided. Several issues were encountered, including broken table lamps and a malfunctioning hairdryer. With some improvements to the amenities, particularly ensuring that all equipment is in proper working order, Dreamtel London Kensington Hotel has the potential to provide a more satisfactory guest experience.

Absolutely cracking burgers, must try if visiting. Vegan options and a selection of poutine style loaded chips. Relaxed atmosphere lots of space to work whilst lunching too. Will definitely be returning soon, lovely staff make all the difference. Many thanks!

Who wants to meet the quiet side of London outside the centre will feel comfortable in this charming 19th-century hotel in the southwest Wimbledon district. It is certainly a hotel for private travellers, but who knows many hotel chains as a business traveller will not see any more such differences and may perhaps have another experience. I personally like the traditional English style of the rooms. In the bathroom, modern equipment connects with historically attractive elements of wall and floor tiles in a harmonious way. I ordered food in the room, which was very good. I also liked breakfast. The staff was very friendly and expert in all areas. The receptionist (I think Angela?) surprised me with an upgrade to a junior suite with views on the park. I think it's not better. Thank you again.

I don’t usually stay in Ibis hotels but this one is like no other ibis hotel I’ve stayed at. From the laid back informal reception area to the contemporary rooms this was a good overnight stay. I appreciated the welcome cookies. The room was spacious but clearly designed for short stays in regards to storage space. There’s USB ports by the bedside. The bathroom has a shower, no bath and good to see the body soap and shampoo in dispensers rather than individual plastic bottles. The water though was only luke warm. The Wi-Fi signal was excellent. Location is excellent in the centre of town and just a few minutes walk to the station. The restaurant menu was limited but adequate for most tastes. My only complaint was the pulsing noise of the bathroom extractor fan which is independent of the air conditioning in the room and not able to switch off.

I was a little bit dubious about booking this hotel because it was so cheap (£29 per night) and because of some of the bad reviews I had read. I booked the hotel for one night anyway as I just needed a bed for the night and was prepared to have a less than pleasant stay, however my stay was not bad at all. I was able to park my car a couple of streets away for free from 6pm up until 9am (but always check the road signs or ask a member of staff what the parking times are. On arrival the reception staff were friendly and helpful. I liked the fact that you couldn't use the elevator without your electronic room key as I am not complacent about security. My room was on the 7th floor and being so high up I couldn't hear the traffic but I could hear the tv in the room next door but it wasn't loud enough to prevent me from getting to sleep. Even though the room was smaller than I was used to, I was able to walk around the bed. And that was it... no table or chair but there was a fixing on the wall where you could hang your clothes and bag. The heater was excellent and mine was able to get up to 32°C/89°F as it was a cold night outside around -2°C/28°F but my room was warm in just a few minutes. The room was clean and so was the bed linen and had quite a nice graphic stenciled on the wall of the London skyline. I know I'm probably being fussy here but the tv which was excellent by the way was way too big for the room. I suppose some people would love this but it really did strain my eyes. Turning down the brightness helped a little but I ended up turning it off in the end. The bathroom was small but clean with a large liquid soap dispenser on the sink. I was able to get the temperature I wanted on the shower in about 30 seconds. The shower curtain didn't pull all the way round because it was incorrectly fitted and I just left it as it was. The bed was comfortable and my nights sleep was undisturbed. There was a kettle and microwave oven you could use downstairs so I just heated up a subway sandwich I had left over from the night before. In conclusion: Yes it is very basic but if you just need a bed for a night or two (probably not much longer) then in my experience you can't go far wrong here. I have seen some of the nightmare reviews but that was not my experience.

After reading some negative reviews we were quite anxious about staying at this hotel and even considered cancelling. Before we arrived we were sent an email asking us to go to a different address which was 7 doors down. This was not an issue for us. This was their sister hotel the pearl hotel which is where we stayed. When we arrived to the hotel check in was fairly easy and we were upgraded to a room with one double bed and one single bed despite requesting 2 singles. We were both really happy with this. Despite the room being small it had everything that you could want and need . The room and Beds were really comfortable and clean, room had an ensuite with a really good shower and had had a variety of toiletries to use which we did after a hot day in London. Lots of places to eat nearby with good high street shops too all within a few minutes walking distance (wetherspoons/superdrug/£1 shop/taco Bell/ pizza express etc) There is also a sainsburys local across the road from the hotel. Small TV and fan in room which was amazing as London was Boiling in July. Kettle and tea/coffee facilities available and also a fridge. Nearest tube station approx.7 mins walk away with access leading to all over London. We only stayed one night but both have said we would 100 % stay here again could not fault the property.

Just leaving Holiday Inn Sutton and have had a truly wonderful stay. This hotel was used as a base for exploring London and surrounding areas and can't recommend highly enough. Ok we're not talking 5 star luxury, but if you're looking for that common sense should tell you to book elsewhere. However if you're looking for CLEAN (so important) and comfort with EXCELLENT staff then this will be for you! Staff are honestly some of the best I've encountered (even in 5 star hotels) and I don't say that lightly. Restaurant, front desk, housekeeping, health club all an absolute credit to the hotel and brand. Thank you. Nothing was to much trouble and you made our stay really great. It's the morning and evening acknowledements and friendly vibe and all the little touches that really do go a long way. We'll be back and would highly recommend this hotel and if there's a way to reward staff on duty 27th-29th August 2022 please do :)
