It's a shame you cannot give this establishment 0 stars. We arrived here to a rude receptionist, who offered us a room (which we had prebooked, stupidly) that was tiny, dirty, smelling of vinegar and smoke, with no towels or handwash/shampoo. It was also incredibly cold. In the morning a member of staff walked into our room at 8.30am telling us to check out. We had been told checkout was at 11am. I wouldn't wish a stay here upon my worst enemy, it was horrible from the beginning to the end.

So we attended the hotel which we initially booked because there was free parking. Reading the reviews before we were all slightly unsure what to expect. As we arrived we were given a key to our room which we went to and discovered dirty stained bedding and pillows aswell as no pillow cases. One of my friends went to ask the reception for some pillow cases and they said they would drop some to the room. We then went out and returned some 8 hours later to find still no pillow cases. We then asked the ‘manager’ who seemed like he couldn’t be bothered to find us any pillow cases and said they only had 3 when we needed 6. He said that they had no more and he could get us some tommorow, however. We were leaving tommorow…What was even more annoying was the manager and another member of staff were lying on a mattress with pillows with cases on behind the reception desk!! Really do not reccomend this hotel, the general cleanliness was well below that expected and very disappointing service.

I had a room booked at the nearby ( 9 miles away ) OYO Shilton, but had a call mid-morning informing me that due to a problem with the electrics, they could no longer accommodate me and had reserved a room at the Star. I ( very mistakenly ) assumed that it was of a comparable standard. The place looked grubby and run down from the outside. I was tired so checked in and went to the room, even though there was no breakfast available. No wifi, no TV, a badly stained carpet, a blind that did not fit the window. A very spartan room, though the bedding and towels looked clean. I informed reception staff that I would not be staying as not comparable to the hotel booked. There was total disinterest from the receptionist. Was told that I would be refunded through the booking company. This did not happen. The booking company was unable to get confirmation of the refund after 2 attempts. I then wasted at least an hour, through the appalling OYO customer service phone line. Useless menu system and dropped calls. Eventually got there via the OYO web chat service.

Proper loud. First night there was one of the lads who work at the hotel arguing with his missus all night. Next night there was group of them running around the hotel like a bunch of kids, drunk, loud. If you enjoy your sleep don't stay here, because you won't get any. Don't have a card machine. No receipts. Dodgy asf

Avoid. That’s all I can say. I’ve never stayed in such a s*ithole in all my life. I booked it through ********** and I’m amazed they list it. Shocking and not worth the money, how ever much it was!!! Staff were nice enough, but firstly I couldn’t get into my room with the key. Receptionist came up with master key. After a bit of a survey I decided to grin and bear it. Until I realised the shower door was actually off it’s mount, and just propped up at the side of the cubicle. At that point I just left!

I stayed at the hotel for about 5 nights t he week before Christmas . As soon as I arrived I had a lovely welcome by by two lovely memebrrs of staff who made me feel like nothing was too much trouble The room was decent for a budget hotel , it was incredibly cheap and the room was clean and had a great big tele which for this tele addict made my stay.

When the three of us first arrived at the hotel it was strange. Very weird smell and look to the hotel. We got put in a hotel room and there was a leak in the bathroom and the double and single bed were pushed together (very strange when we booked one a room for three adults) . We got a room change which was very needed and we were grateful for this. But the second room was again very strange. No mirrors in normal positions (dressing table or bathroom wall) they were on the back of the hotel door and back of the bathroom door. Which is not good when you have female guests trying to do makeup and hair etc. Overall cannot complain about the room as when drunk and partied out it fit the need but from the start it was a regretful booking because it wasn’t a place you enjoyed staying at Just a place you had to stay at to avoid paying a ridiculous fee for
