Red Roof Inn Lansing East - MSU

*Full Disclosure* we never made it there, but we couldn't write a review without checking those off. However something weird was going on. We submitted for a cancellation the day off as we were stuck in Canada. We sent in an appeal to cancel in hopes to get some money back. Trip.com called us and said the hotel won't consider it as we apparently already "checked in" which was physically impossible. I called them myself and told them I'm not there and noone else knows about the reservation, so it's impossible. The lady said there's nothing she can do, and that I'd have to call back the next day and speak to the manager. The only other people who had my booking information, and knew we were requesting to cancel and would not be there, was the hotel. Whoever checked in would have needed that information. As well they would have been unable to provide identification unless they coincidentally had the same name as me. You'd think if you told a hotel someone potentially checked in with false ID they'd be concerned, and not say "call back after they've already stayed a night". Draw your own concusions from what kind of establishment this is.

Good value for the money spent

Dingy hotel! Would never stay again! Mold in windows from leaking. Sheets and blankets had stains the room not cleaned well at all. Nothing like the pictures shown.

The place was filthy and falling apart. Sometime after checkin at 10pm Friday night and 6am Saturday morning the glass in the main hotel door just shattered everywhere. They put plastic in the door, but left the broken glass for their guests to walk on. The television in the room didn’t work, I was told it would be fixed by the time we got back to the hotel on the second night and it wasn’t. There was mold in the nasty bathroom light/fan fixture (photos attached). We were given 1 bath towel for 2 people for 2 nights and told we couldn’t have anymore because they didn’t have any. The trim was peeling off the wall and I tripped over it in the dark because lightbulbs were burnt out. A refrigerator was advertised, but as seen in the photos, one was not provided. Overall a horrible experience. I would never recommend anyone stay at this location.

They have roaches and a feet smell if you just need somewhere to lay your head that’s coo just don’t bring home the critters

The staff was very kind and courteous. The place looked a bit run down and not very attractive. It was clean though and had a comfortable bed. Bathroom was very small.

This place is not at all what advertised. Looks like people are living here. People outside of hotel sitting smoking pot. Everything about this hotel is unsafe. My daughter was scared to go to sleep. Hotel is a dive, would never recommend. Not at all worth what paid. Very disappointed
