I loved my stay at Moonlight! The lady at reception was so sweet and helpful, the room & pool were lovely, and I personally loved exploring the abandoned areas of the hotel (tip - if you go through the *slightly creepy* derelict area you get the most beautiful private beach to yourself!!). It's more like a serviced apartment than a hotel so manage your expectations, but that was perfect for me

Most of the hotel (villas, swimming pool, restaurant, etc.) are unfortunately abandoned and dilapidated. Only the building with a swimming pool with 18 rooms remains. The rooms are very modern and beautifully renovated. Access to the pool from the room is great. Only the steps into it start at waist level, and pensioners are unlikely to climb. Cleaning is done daily. There is nothing around the hotel. Only two expensive restaurants. The nearest store and restaurants are a 15-minute walk away. The beach is full of rocks and the tides are very strong, making it impossible to swim. But the room itself is great. The hotel just needs to remove all photos of what is abandoned on all sales sites, otherwise guests will be disappointed that they were deceived.

The place is really great. However I booked this place and paid the premium price because I thought it had a buffet, bars, pool and beach front. I was here in 2019 and it had all of that. Now there is none of that.

We had booked to stay next February in a sea view cottage at Moonlight Exotic Bay. I recently had a question about the room, so emailed the hotel. To my surprise, the response informed me that the entire sea facing section (Andaman zone) will be closed this winter and our room will no longer be available. Had I not by chance contacted the hotel, I wonder if I would have been informed of this prior to arriving at the hotel. If you have a booking already, you may want to contact the hotel to cancel and make alternativr arrangements.

The resort itself is quite nice. It’s super peaceful, clean and has pretty much everything you need to enjoy the stay. Staff were generally friendly and willing to help. Of course, since it’s hard to hire more staffers during the pandemic, room cleaning and cooking understandably took longer time. It would be good to keep this mind if you order room services. Btw, there is a lovely cafe called Smoon near the hotel. We spent a lot of time there for coffee, western-style breakfast and lunch. The resort has a private beach, but it’s the best for kayaking, not for swimming or snorkeling. There are too many rocks near the shore and water visibility wasn’t desirable during our stay. The beach is good for sunset watching, though. For those who travel with little kids, it’s a good spot to find hermit crabs. For room tips, rooms with pool view are in a new building which provides bigger space and better internal designs. The seafront villas have better views, but they require a steep climb to get there.

The photos did not do this place justice at all! The resort in general and the rooms especially are much nicer than the photos. The rooms were clean, modern and spacious. The Thai food was delicious and authentic, and so was the western food and the drinks. The staff are friendly and really helpful. I will definitely be going back again.

Absolutely love this hotel. If you want spectacular sunsets, your own private beach and warm friendly staff this is the perfect place. Great rustic rooms with amazing views, kayaks to take out and a convenient location are a few things I loved about staying here. Although limited breakfast options the quality of the food was great. We ate in the restaurant one night and enjoyed good quality cuisine. If there is a down side it’s the steps up to the rooms, they can be a challenge as pretty steep and a bit uneven. And also running out of hot water midday.

We only spent two nights there, we arrived from Phiphi before leaving for Koh Lipe. The weather was rainy, too bad, the island is magnificent 😍 The hotel was great, clean, spacious room, nice bathroom, we were able to rent scooters on site. Very pleasant service, delicious breakfast. Next door - a nice little village with good beach bars
