Tang Dynasty Park Hotel

Kota Kinabalu City Center Kota Kinabalu|0.38km from Sabah Islamic Civilization Museum
Tang Dynasty Park used to be one of my family favourite hotels in Kota Kinabalu (since I was little). As time goes by, we realized this buliding is getting older yet I don't see any obvious improvement although we came quite often here and lots of construction happening nearby the hotel so let's not include the noise pollution as my reason to give this poor evaluation. Days ago, I booked one night stay at TDP thru bookingbasic.com. Before I reach KK, I call them for confirmation. Everything seems off since then... 1) The receptionist doesn't sounds happy with my call. Oh don't get me wrong, I myself served in hospitality field so I do know what I'm talking about. 2) The room : IS A MESS. I paid RM91 for the room so I won't have any high expectations but as I said earlier, I'm not a first-timer here but this time I feel so sad. The wallpaper......hm. I still can bear that so that's fine. The soap handler is rusty and crooked. The hairdryer hose is not attached to the hairdyer (I don't even have the mood to fix it by myself after seeing that and went straight to the bed lol). The loose sink tap makes me sighed everytime I want to use it. I can see dust on the table clearly. I understand I paid the lowest room rate but how could you let your guest sleep in that kind of unprepared room? At least I would appreciate a kind reminder about the room condition before I went in. Infact, I can get a better room at other place with the same price but I still choose TDP because of the familiarity. My only fault in this case is not directly made a complaint and ask for help that day. My family really loves this place, long time ago. I guess it won't be in the list anymore. (Anyway thank you for the newspaper. I like that part)

I didn't eat breakfast, but I can cook by myself. It is very suitable for families with children and can wash clothes. It is also very close to the city. Grab calls a car for about 5 MYR to the city center. There is also a small swimming pool on the roof where children can play in the water. In the morning, you can hear the chanting, which is very interesting. Good quality and cheap, recommended 👍

The breakfast is quite good, you can scramble your own eggs, and the interior of the Youth Hostel will also prepare hungry noodles, coffee, fried rice and bread. The privacy is very good, that is, there are fewer bathrooms, only two, and it takes a while to queue in the morning. The overall feeling is great! The boss and we are very happy to talk, we will speak Chinese, introduce us to shopping mall and specialty stores, and also call the car to take us.

Far away from city, inconvenience if you don't have car. But good if you need fully rest. They only provide 1 bottle of shampoo and shower gel. Have to climb up to 3rd floor. Not recommended for senior.

I like this hotel but seems like they are short of manpower. Location okay, near to Imago and there are easy to find food & mini market. The housekeeping next time maybe can help to clean the glass in the room while doung cleaning why would just let the glass dirty on the table. Sometimes maybe the customer forgot to clean or dont have the dishwashes. Overall the reception is sporting and soft spoken also friendly. Stayed in this hotel for 5 night 6 days. Oh btw the air conditioning maybe need to service because all of my family got cough especiallh my kids always cough when wake up in the morning. They also provided parking lot for their customer so dont worry there’s free parking also got security which is very friendly & helpful. Also got ATM machine next to the hotel. Will come back again in the future. Thanks Raia Hotel 😁
