Waterside Suites and Marina

We found the extra text messages welcoming us and asking if we needed things throughout our stay was nice to have. Haven't seen this kind of communication from other properties.

Our full stay was good but the check-in wasn't great. First, half of the property was being repainted on the outside and they put in that half. In their defense they said this was the quite side because of a noisy bar right across the canal. This was true. There was tape around windows, doors and room numbers. Made it hard to find the room. The room they assigned up was not ready. They then gave us another room. OK. The room was nice, clean and looked out over the canal. Unfortunately, we were in bed and at 10 pm someone tried to come in but stopped with they saw it was occupied. Turns out they gave our room to someone else too. They left and were given another room. At 11:30 pm there was another know on the door to apologize for this. Unfortunately, this woke us up as we have early dives the next day. Another unfortunate thing was that the door had no deadbolt or any other way of locking from the inside. Other than this, the stay was great. No complaints. It was close to restaurants and the dive shops. We saw some manatees at night and iguanas during the day. Had a good stay.

First thing was the check in staff charged me $86.62 dollars more than what my ******* paperwork showed. I asked them to explain it, but they literally could not, and would not explain it. Thanks to ******* for getting me a refund of the overcharge. They were painting the outside of the property, and the outside walkway to the room was loose dirt and cement. This was tracked into the room, but our living room floor seemed as though it had not been swept or vacuumed before we checked in. The staff were nice, but everything about the property spoke of inefficient management, and uncleanliness. The outside of the property was cluttered with junk, and excess items. It looked very trashy for lack of a better description.

We drove from Miami to Key largo and when we arrived at the hotel they said that ******* overbooked our hotel room and we had to cancel our plans and drove back. They told us that they didn’t have any room for us.

Hotel is undergoing renovations but rooms available for rent were exceptional. Rooms have balconies overlooking an inter coastal canal. Rooms have two levels with sleeping quarters on second level so there are stairs involved. Bathroom on each level with shower on second level. Full size refrigerator and cooking capacity. A/C was not working properly in first room but moved to another room with perfect temperature control. Out of the way a bit but we’ll worth the experience

Location is great. Construction/painting was going on in our building and we should have been put elsewhere as I booked this months ago. No equipment in the kitchen, except for 1 dirty fork. Missing one of two sliding shower doors. The entire property, which we have stayed in before seems in disrepair. Front desk staff was very pleasant. But, as a result of managements lack of concern for their facility, we will not be back.

Lovely room. Plenty of space for 2 people. 2 bathrooms, a good sized kitchen, and a nice balcony. Say by the pool and watched the boats go by in the canal.

When we arrived I was a little worried because the appearance of the building is not very nice. But as soon as we entered the room I felt relieved because it was quite nice and very clean. We had a sofa bed with a half bath and kitchen downstairs and a king size bed with a full bath upstairs. We didn’t use the pool or any other areas of the hotel.

Spacious two story suite overlooking the marina and canal. Very nicely appointed and clean. Nice to enjoy coffee on the balcony. Walk around the marina for great food right across the canal.
