This hostel is the go to for our annual friends trip. The rooms are clean and beds fairly comfy. The cafe has great lattes and breakfast sandwiches. This time we played pool and also participated in the weekly Sunday Sip and Paint event…lots of fun…and is free! It’s a less than 5 minute walk to Connaught Drive so close to shops and restaurants.

This was a very expensive and disappointing hostel experience. We opted for a private room because we thought that this would be a cleaner and more comfortable option. The floor had not been cleaned in a while and the shower had pink mildew growing in it. At check out, guests are asked to remove towels, sheets and duvet cover from the room and place in laundry. Upon removing the duvet cover, the duvet filler was stained with blood. No thank you, we will not be back.

Friendly staff, nice open communal spaces and a short walk from town. Train isn’t really that disruptive although could be if you’re a light sleeper, we just wore ear plugs and heard nothing. Had a family room with private bathroom for about 400 Canadian dollars, or 240 GBP, which felt a bit steep for one night in a hostel.

This is a new building with a lot of facilities in a good location near to the centre of Jasper and it even offers double rooms. However the building design means the bedrooms suffer terribly from overheating. In Jasper, it was not so hot (max 26C) and at night time the outside temperature drops to 14C but the bedrooms remain sweltering. It does not cool down properly even with the window open and a fan on all day. Having to leave the window open makes the room very noisy: a huge ventilation unit on the first night which was not acceptable. We asked to move and got an alternate room but it was still very hot so now we had the train noises to contend with, the Jasper train yard next to Hostel is very noisy!

Had a family room with private bathroom on the second floor. Short walk into town, friendly staff who checked our bags 5 hours early so we didn’t have to lug them around with us. Communal spaces clean and well equipped and the noise from the railway wasn’t a big deal. We slept with the windows open and used ear plugs. At end of the day it’s a hostel so it’s not going to be luxurious and only negative for us was that it felt quite pricey for what it was. Best part of 400 Canadian dollars or 300 GBP felt a bit too much for the offer.

Front staff were nice. But one person in my room stank so bad that I felt like vomiting so I sat downstairs. The management yelled at me, told me I must go to my room or leave. It is now 3:25 am and I don’t know what to do. Didn’t sleep a wink and can’t handle the stench. Not to mention the guy below me’s snoring is shaking the entire room. It’s disgusting what we pay for this. And the abusive treatment of the management just adds to it all.

This was by far the worst hostel experience i've had. And the most expensive one. The rooms are small, and there is the ventilation that is so loud, that you can't even hear if anyone is snoring. Seriously, who built this hostel?? Plus there is a railway, so it is impossible to sleep from like 4 am. And it wasn't even that hot outside, and during the night i was sweating like crazy. Can't imagine what it is like when there's 30 degrees outside. The hostel is ok, very sterile, hospital like vibe. But seriously, the conditions they put you in and they charge you 80 dollars?? I guess greediness doesn't have its limits. The staff though is really kind and helpful. But there is only that much they can do. Just avoid Jasper town, it's a total tourist trap. There are several wilderness hostels along the road, that are far better then this one.

no efence to the hotel but the hotel was not a good expariance, it was so hot i could not sleep not even a cold shower didnt help! i do not recamend going here. They only had a small little oscalating fan that blew warm air, the room windows opened the littleist bit youve ever seen. The only plus side was the pool table.

This hotel was bad for many reasons. The first reason is the heat. When I went the A/C could only be set extremely high and the fan they had to cool us down blew warm air. Another way to try to cool us down was a window that barely opened. The second reason was the general room itself. The size of the room I got was a bit cramped. The blanket was tight and rough. The beds were small and the bathroom was so cramped you could touch every side of it easily. The only thing I can think that was good was the activity room. It had a computer, pool table, board games, little doo-dads, and tv room. Also may I add it was 145 CAD to just stay in a sweat box with minor activities. But I will give HI jasper a break. It was walking distance to multiple restaurants, and the activity room was fun, and maybe we just got there on a bad day. Overall I don't think I would recommend HI jasper :(
