Baan Talay Dao

My experience with Baan Talay Dao was excellent. The location, right on the beach, is awesome. My room was comfortable, hotel staff were great, and they have a very nice pool. The best part was the delicious breakfast buffet. See the photos!

Pleasant small resort away from the beach frenzies in Hoa Hin. Room was comfortable and well appointed, restaurant served good local Thai food, and restaurant and small pool have a nice sea view. However, unfortunately, no beach access for a walk or swim.

We absolutely loved our stay in Baan Talay Dao, the staff are so kind and friendly. The rooms are spotlessly clean and very comfortable and the location directly on the beach is perfect. We were on the first floor and had a beautiful balcony. I would have loved the door to the balcony to have had a fly screen and the hotel could do with upgrading the WiFi which was practically nonexistent. The breakfast was good. Would recommend

A small, intimate resort located a few kilometres south of the bustle of Hua-Hin, Baan Talay Dao offers a nice simple recluse with excellent service, a superb garden, and a simple - but well-tuned - restaurant which offers a sensible and authentic option of both Western and local cuisine throughout the day and evening. Our "villa" was well-designed, kept immaculately clean, and had the advantage of ceiling ventilation in addition to AC (which basic rooms don't offer). The 15m long, 1.5m deep pool was well-cleaned, and included a small children's option in addition, which was popular at weekends when families tended to arrive for 1-2 day visits. The tides in the area mean that no immediate beach is available until mid-afternoon. (The hotel provides a shuttle to another beach, which I didn't make use of). The sea along this stretch can be dramatically active - thrilling to watch at times, but not ideal for those who want beach access throughout the day. Outside the hotel, there is a a great selection of local supermarkets and eateries - ranging from the simplest street food, to excellent fish/seafood restaurants which are yet cheap and informal. A cheap public taxi option runs on a quarter-hour tact both north to town and south, as required. To the north, local markets and shopping malls are but minutes away! For a quiet getaway, 5 stars!

Good food, reasonable room rate and service is very attentive. Even though it is boutique but it is right in front of the beach and good location to commute to travelling places such as cicada market, pranburi national park, Hua-hin night market and etc.

Thailand’s COVID has entered its third wave and this resort is the perfect getaway. No flights from Bangkok needed and just 2.5 hrs drive from Bangkok to the resort. We chose this resort as its located a bit further from the main town of Hua Hin. We wanted tranquility, personalized service and natural surrounding. That’s what we got plus helpful staff. The resort has a beachfront and a swimming pool. Unfortunately, the pool was closed due to COVID. But we could still swim in the sea if we wanted to. We booked a villa with a partial sea view and its worth every penny. It is spacious and well equipped. The food is above average and breakfast has good variety. Furthermore, the resort has a pleasant surprise. It has a DVD player and a small but decent collection of DVD movies for borrowing - free of charge. I want to add that it has English and Thai, both audio and subtitles. If you want a quiet getaway not too far from Bangkok, this is the place. I would recommend opting for the villa instead of the hotel room as its more spacious and feel closer to nature. The only very minor negative (which is really a non-issue) is that the car park is a few minutes walk from the main building. However, they always have a buggy standing by to and fro. Nough said, will be back!
