Hong Kong Gold Coast Hotel

Honestly, when I booked this hotel I was a little apprehensive after looking at the reviews and pictures, and seeing how far out of central HK it was. The hotel looks a little dated in the pictures and reminded me a bit of a 70s Spanish hotel. Whilst this was a little true, I was very wrong in my apprehension and I enjoyed this hotel so much that I returned for an extra 4 days. Cons: If you want to go into the centre of Hong Kong then it is a little bit far and that’s not what this hotel is for. The dining options outside the hotel are a little limited. The rooms are a bit dated and the beds a touch firm but it didn’t affect sleep quality and the size of the room made up for it. AND THAT IS IT! Pros: The food. Oh my god the food is great and far out*****s many hotels I’ve stayed in that were much more expensive. I had several dishes that were exceptional quality and well priced too (the paneer curry is out of this world and the lunchtime buffet was brilliant and had a 2 for 1 deal making it superb value). The breakfast might just be one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve ever had. The staff. Very friendly and accommodating for a family and supported us with all our needs. Special mention for Hotex who we saw several times during meal times. The room. For a family with a young infant, the size of the room was great and afforded lots of space for play and the amenities provided were great. Though the room is a touch dated, I wouldn’t say this is an issue and everything worked well and was well-maintained. The shower in my second room was fantastic! Also, if you can stay on the marina side with a balcony it is very much worth it, especially watching the black kites circling close by. The location. We didn’t want a downtown experience so we were delighted with the peace and quiet. The beach is brilliant, clean and spacious and it’s a very family friendly area. Hotel activities. There’s lots to do for families especially those with young children and when my child is a little older I hope to return so she can enjoy more of the activities! All in all I would like to say a massive thanks to the hotel and all the staff and I hope I can visit again soon!

Pros: 1. The hotel is very beautiful itself, although a bit old, but with amazing territory, where you can walk and chill. 2. The rooms are big and spacious, with bath tubs (which is specially valuable in HK). 3. Receptionists were very professional, friendly and helpful. 4. Great breakfast buffet. 5. For people with kids, it will be very suitable, since there are a lot of extra activities for them (but as far as I’m concerned, you may have to pay additional charges for the amenities). 6. Shuttle bus to the city and train station for a reasonable price. 7. I personally love the location of the hotel. But it is very far from the central part, with limited restaurants and activities to do. Cons: 1. The service is quite average (except the reception). Not all people speak English. 2. Agree with other people, that the shuttle bus time is quite confusing, and not very convenient. I think before the pandemic, they had a better schedule (for example add an earlier time, like 8 or at least 9 am). 3. I agree with their policy, to not provide plastic water bottles, but I think it would be nice touch, if you would fill the jars with water upon guests arrival. Overall a solid 8,5/10.

Beautiful, spacious, with amazing view, hard to believe how different from hongkong center ( in room size) I would definitely recommend this hotel, good for families with young kids .

We have really enjoyed our stay. The room is clean and has what we need. The scenery from the room is calm and pretty. The location has a relaxing vibe to it, close to the beach and a plaza with good food. Breakfast has a good spread.

The room is big, but no swimming pool due to winter maintenance. The drinks in the fridge are complimentary which are a plus.

Amazing hotel and very clean. Great customer service and care. We had a huge room. Seaview was amazing we could see airplanes landing and taking off. We had a pool view but too cold to swim so good thing it wasn’t open. Two breakfast daily included in our stay so a decent sized western and Chinese food mixed. Bathroom had a shower as well as a tub that could double as a bath or shower. Excellent size bathroom. It was beautifully decorated for Chinese New Year. Walking distance to shops, supermarket, and restaurants. About 20 minute taxi ride to airport.

It was an amazing experienced to celebrate my birthday at the hotel…A simple but a memorable one🥹…with a peaceful and a perfect view🤗🥰…
