There were 20 in our party so we spent most of our time around the pool. We were there for the Men's U18 World Softball Championship for 11 days and would have enjoyed seeing the country, the city and enjoying some sights.
The Holiday Inn Aeropuerto was a great hotel, it was the city itself that was a disappointment for us.
The staff in all areas were courteous, friendly and helpful. Thankfully the restaurant had wonderful food since there was very little choice in the area. The dryer had bearing problems and marked up or destroyed everyone's laundry. The hotel staff washed our clothes and got out the marks, closed the laundry facilities and were arranging for a new dryer.
There was very little to do in Hermosillo and nothing to see if you did go for a walk in this industrial area.
The little stores around the area supplied us with what we needed to get started, then Uber took us everywhere we needed to go.
The surrounding area had garbage strewn everywhere but we felt safe whenever we went out.
We found a young Uber driver, Axel, who spoke English so we kept him for a week. He was amazing and took us through parts of the town we otherwise wouldn't have seen on our way to and from the Stadium. He gave us commentary on his City and the places we should see and food we should enjoy. Axel made our trip worthwhile.
