During our road trip from Texas to Washington (and back again), this is the best HI Express we have experienced (probably hit half a dozen or so on this trip). Property is new, which is always nice. However, the real differentiator at this time was how they did not allow effective COVID-19 processes to inhibit the guest experience. They are the only HI express we stayed at that are serving a hot breakfast - you place your order on a sheet, then the (protected) staff prepare your meal and call you up when it is ready. Most of the HI Express franchisees we stayed with have taken the opportunity to use COVID-19 as a rationale to stop serving breakfast or to give you only water and a granola bar. This location proves that does not need to be the case. Well done. Way to adapt and persevere.

The Oxford Suites are truly sweet ! All the employees that I had interaction with are definitely professional, courteous and very caring ”People Persons” ! The whole Crew at Oxford Suites Hermiston, are exceptional and the best I've ever had the pleasure to interact with during my 10-day stay! Especially notable was ILDA in the Kitchen and KRISSY at the front desk who made me feel like i was home ! Highly recommended to anybody who enjoys feeling like they are at home while traveling!

Booked a king room less than two weeks ahead of Pendleton Roundup. The good points -- easy drive from Pendleton, quiet neighborhood away from freeway, good-sized room, extra sink, positive staff attitude -- were outweighed by the property's poor overall condition. Some of this was specific to my room. Both key cards were unreliable as issued and after two do-overs. The room also had missing and mismatched light bulbs, orange- and brown-stained gout and dingy chrome in the shower, an absent window screen, and a flaky, hard-to-start A/C unit. Other negatives concerned the building in general. The exterior door closest to my room was ”emergency use only” necessitating lots of extra walking through the hotel. Stained carpeting in the corridors, a bent stairwell light fixture, failing exterior paint, the inverted-chairs-on-the-tables dining room treatment -- these and more combined to produce a distinctly sad effect. We were glad for the hot Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches. But like half a dozen other guests we saw eating breakfast in the parking lot at the time, we were also glad to be leaving bright and early.
