It's been a while since my stay but we have no real complaints. They accept foreigners. There are staff that are fluent in English and helpful. The pool was empty at the time we went but it looks like its a great pool area when it's filled.

桂林老牌四星級飯店，位於桂湖景區，在一個半島上面，四周風景美如畫，晚上景觀燈光打開更是絢麗多姿。
價格比較實惠，酒店房間很多，同一種房型的配置也略有不同，這點需要注意。房內設施齊全，保險箱和冰箱這些都有，裝修略有年代感，可能是因為走的中式風格。這次住的頂樓房間天花板明顯有水漬，應該是以前屋頂漏水形成的黃斑，面積還不小，這種一般用白色塗料刷兩下就解決了，也不用很大成本，不知道為何酒店無視問題存在，讓每一位入住該房間的客人一躺在床上就看到天花板上的抽象畫。
天氣晴朗的時候從窗户望出去可以看到遠處桂林特有的峯林地貌，但同時也看到了酒店低樓層屋頂黑漆漆的陳年的污垢，搞不明白這種打掃打掃就能提升酒店形象的細節問題，為什麼酒店管理方面不加以改善，桂湖飯店建築本身是非常優秀的，外立面和結構幾乎與周圍的山水景色融為一體，這一點比市區其他四星級甚至五星級酒店都要好，別的酒店想模仿都模仿不了。
酒店的自助餐品種一般，用餐環境寬敞明亮，碗碟杯塊乾淨整潔，但特別要指出的是牛奶摻水非常不好，住了那麼多星級酒店，第一次喝到摻水的牛奶（其實住錦江之星也沒遇到過），雖然説自助早餐的收費不貴，人均30左右，但給客人的印象非常不好，有些介意的人可能第二次就不會選擇入住了。酒店如果考慮到成本，建議可以限量供應牛奶，或者按人數定量供應盒裝牛奶。
説了這麼多，其實還是希望酒店各方面能夠適當提升，因為桂湖酒店底子還是非常好的，客房翻新這些需要鉅額預算的措施姑且不討論，但通過一些小投入小細節的改善，也能夠提升住店客人的滿意度，從而提高酒店的口碑和聲譽。
總之，酒店還是非常不錯的，瑕不掩瑜建議大家來住。

在預訂的時候看評論説設施比較舊，但是想原來是四星，再差也不會差到哪裡去。結果真是超乎想象，感覺設施就是30年沒更新過，洗浴的居然沒有花灑，電視還是有線信號，滿屏幕雪花點，地毯無法形容。最關鍵是排風空調嗡嗡響，被子潮潮的，一夜沒睡好。價格510一晚。第一次差評。

位置優越環境優美，背山臨江，安靜祥和。房間乾淨整潔，古色古香，大堂服務態度很好，考慮很周到，室內有冰箱，存物方便。大廳內的2塊石頭也很有特色，點綴的恰到好處！唯一不足就是房間中央空調年久聲響稍有點大，但不影響休息，可以理解，畢竟酒店建於1990年，已34年，底藴深厚，可見當年輝煌。去年國慶在距此不遠的桂林大酒店入住，體驗感很差，桂湖這方面比桂林大酒店強多了，沒有因為黃金週遊客人多就降維服務，下次來還選擇住這～～

找了一圈發現性價比很高的酒店，給升級了房間，房間可以看到桂湖。晚上漫步湖邊也非常安靜愜意，距離市中心不遠，公交車步行都方便。距離不遠還有小菜一碟、椿記燒鵝。
