The hotel is very new and the reception staff can speak English. One receptionist even very good English. The breakfast is good and delicious. Almost all salt dispenser were empty. Even telling it the staff it was the same on the next day. The room was clean and new. We got 2 bottles water every day. The Kids club is perfect for families. In the surrounding you have several coffees bars, fast food and restaurants . The subway is just around the corner with an escalator upwards but not downwards. This was a disadvantage with stroller or with luggage. To the city it was about 25 mins and cost 4RMB with subway. We enjoyed our stay in the hotel very much. The price is pretty okay for what the hotels offers to the guests. All the staff is really friendly. If we come to Guangzhou again, we definitely would book this hotel again.

First of all, I would like to express my special thanks to Carl Liu Junpeng, the in-house butler. Because of his warm and considerate service, this little vacation trip was very happy. Mingquanju comes here because of its reputation, surrounded by mountains and rivers, and yearning for it. It was very pleasant to stand on the balcony of the lake view room and overlook the mountains and lakes. The only drawback was that there were no tables and chairs on the balcony. In order to enjoy tea, I moved the ones out of the room. The hotel has many antique furnishings, full of cultural atmosphere. I visited Tingyuxuan, the name is so artistic. Drinking tea here can truly enjoy the feeling of relaxation and the beauty of the tea ceremony. But remember to make a reservation in advance. The next morning, my husband and I walked for 2 kilometers around the Dajinzhong Lake. Not satisfied, we walked back and forth to the west gate of Baiyun Mountain. I felt that the air was fresh and full of negative ions. After I came back, I made a pot of tea on the balcony. Chatting is really a wonderful enjoyment. Lunch was at the Chinese restaurant, with refreshments and a la carte dishes. The food was very good, including cod cakes and marble yam jelly, which were very special. All pictures were taken by me in real-life situations, with chirping insects and birds and gurgling springs. This place is very suitable for people who like quiet and vacation.

The location is relatively remote in Guangzhou, close to Baiyun Mountain. But it's close to the meeting place, so I personally think the location is good. But it's not very close to the subway station, so it's easy to take a taxi in and out. The hotel is generally satisfactory in all aspects. The breakfast varieties are quite diverse, including Chinese and Western options. The only thing is that there are no fried eggs. Buildings 1 and 5 of the hotel are accommodation rooms, and buildings 2/3/4 are exhibition halls and conference halls. There are standard rooms in Building 1 and superior rooms in Building 5.

The Element is well appointed, a picturesque hotel & convention center complex. The staff are helpfully & friendly. I had many meals at Marriott within the complex and the food is excellent & the chef as well as the kitchen team deserve much praise for their service. I would have liked to see at Element a washer & dryer facility for a long stay hotel brand just like they show on the website, but alas this Element did not offer such facility. For a new hotel many maintenance issues from doors broken, water leaking, mold, broken windows, just to name a few things that need to be addressed immediately. As the staff seem very concerned the management seems to be preoccupied with their own business and not the business of hotel operations and owner property protection. The attitude of management is “I am busy” therefore these small details are not of concern. But in fact it’s a complete reflection on poor management from the top. I hope management can make changes and improve the quality and efficiency of doing repairs maybe even have the proactive approach to maintaining the integrity of the property. I understand the property is new and the construction team is still working on their list of things that need replacing or repaired. They need to have a MOD on call 24/7 and available to come to address issues as they arise. Management needs to be a leader and coach to the staff. The staff are eager and looking to leadership for a good team environment. I hope management is willing to change their mindset and focus on the details because the details matter. Overhall I look forward to staying at the hotel and look forward to seeing the improvements unfold day by day.
