The Postcard Galle

The Postcard in Galle is a lovely boutique property that charms its way into the guests staying there! The management took care to respond to all our queries and make arrangements which were well taken care of with no hitches. The property is a 10 minute tuk tuk ride away from the Galle Fort area and main town. The rooms are neat and clean... a couple of simple additions would make them even better... The food is simple and tasty...gives the feeling of being home cooked which appeals to the senses. The staff are well trained and manage the property well. The pool is nice and shady and the general vibe is one of serene and calm. A good option while considering a property to stay in Galle.

Little oasis 10 minutes tuk tuk ride from Galle fort. Beautifully designed small boutique hotel. Check in anytime from 6am and check out anytime (subject to availability), breakfast whenever you like. Delicious food, friendly staff, comfy bed with great attention to detail. Only thing bring ear plugs as traffic can be a little loud as is the call to prayer.

We had a very comfortable stay in this beautiful hotel that gave us wonderful views of the sea. The two-level Attic was perfect for our family of four (though one bathroom got a little tight - but we knew of that in advance and decided to go for it anyway). The private sitting area outside the room opened out into a verandah which overlooked the pool, lush greenery and then the sea - just ideal to lounge with a book or play board games so one didn't mind the unseasonal rain on some days. Being greeted with smiles by every single staff member was a delight. Bharat, the manager, was most helpful and did all he could to ensure our stay was truly memorable. A 15-minute drive to the Galle Fort made it easy to access the hustle-bustle of the more 'touristy' area when we wanted. Half an hour away was Unawatuna's gorgeous beaches with water sports, as well as the hidden Jungle Beach. Anytime breakfast and easy late checkout were the icing on the cake - just perfect for laid back travellers like us. A point to note - while we enjoyed the food, it could have been better; but this was a small thing in light of our overall fabulous experience. Thank you!

This is a small hotel but built and run with a lot of care, understanding and great staff. It's almost like a home away from home. Their all day breakfast feature is something I have craved in hotels....and they heard me. Rooms are tastefully done and staff is very friendly and always avaliable for help. Food at the hotel was top notch and is a mix of local specialities as well as regulars. We were travelling with kids and the hotel staff took extra care to make sure all our kids needs were met. Also a shout out to Bharatvir the Hotel Manager who was exemplary . Bharat thanks for the memories and our daughter will remember the little turtle forever

Fantastic Food, excellent service, and superb rooms and views. You catch a lovely sunset from certain points of the property, lovely pool that is shaded by the trees so its kept nice and cool. They have some amazing cocktails as well! Try the arrack cocktail!!The chefs are specialized in Indian and Sri Lankan cuisine. Overall fantastic getaway in a convenient location, only a few minutes drive from Galle fort. Bara beach is walking distance so you can grab a nice walk on the beach. Really want to come again! Also there is flexible check in and check out so its super relaxing all round!

Loved this very stylish boutique hotel, the rooms were large and very comfortable. Location is superb in a quiet area, but just a 10 minute Tuk Tuk ride from Galle Fort. The service was very personalised and we particularly liked the anytime breakfast. Both Sandaruwan and Randi looked after us faultlessly during our stay. Both team members were extremely personable and engaging, as were the management team. Would certainly recommend this property.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel in early February 2024 for a week. The service at Postcard is phenomenal: the staff is always very polite and friendly, and the management is very helpful. I would like to extend a special thanks to Bharatvi, Tuhin, and Ajith, who went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We received so many beaches, tourist spots, and restaurants recommendations. They also always offered to call a tuk-tuk or taxi to take us wherever we wanted. Since Uber works relatively well in Sri Lanka, we almost always opted to call a tuk-tuk or taxi ourselves. We only arranged airport transfers through the hotel upon arrival and departure, which went smoothly. The hotel overlooks a lake and a beach. However, it is not advisable to swim in the lake, and unfortunately, the hotel does not offer any activities such as kayaking or stand-up paddle. Furthermore, the beach is too far from the hotel and not worth visiting, as it is dirty, small, and the rough sea keeps swimmers away. On the other hand, the hotel has a nice pool to lounge by, but does not have enough sun loungers: only 3, when there should be at least 4 given the hotel's capacity. My suggestion to the hotel is to purchase (at least) two kayaks so that guests can better enjoy the lake, as well as an extra sun lounger for the pool area.

Absolutely beautiful hotel, quiet and peaceful. Exceptionally clean, the most comfortable beds, linen and pillows. Delicious freshly prepared food. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and SANDARUWAN, services our room each day and make incredible animals from the towels, a really lovely touch and left token gifts on turn down. Sanjeet was also fabulous, smiley and efficient. Will most definitely return again and highly recommend the hotel

This place is absolutely stunning. Looks prettier in life than in the pictures. Service and staff here are top notch, detailed & attention oriented. Room was immaculate, they did a turn down service, cleaned & cool the rooms before bed. What a luxury. Breakfast is served at anytime of the day which was so helpful to us as we went whale watching which took 5hours+ & the hotel served us breakfast at 1:30pm. They turned down our room, and we had a nap afterwards. Beautiful surroundings and gorgeous view and a pool to cool down in. Children friendly - as we had 3 kids with us. Hotel manager came and spoke to us and made us feel welcome, even the security guards were helpful and friendly, lighting our paths from car to inside. We always ended the evening with drinks and games. We had massages to rejuvenate, too. This has to be the highlight hotel of our trip. Not at the fort area, which was too loud & touristy, but not too far to go to for a visit or dinner. I have no complaints, not even about pressure of the shower! I highly recommended this place.
