We chose this hotel based on proximity to Mt. Fuji and the Chureito Pagoda, and the fact that they had a private onsen that could be used by somebody with large tattoos. It ended up being one of the most incredible places we stayed! The rooms were clean, comfortable, and absolutely lovely; we really appreciated the views over the lake and the private hot tub on the balcony. It was pretty cold in the mornings and my family likes to watch the sunrise - being able to have our feet toasty warm in the roof-onsen while watching the sun come up over Mt. Fuji was magical! The food was also unbelievable: the seafood was super fresh and tasty, and the variety and inventiveness of the dishes was delightful. The staff at Konansou were also some of the kindest and most helpful people we met while in Japan - super friendly and responsive whenever we needed anything. (We were also highly impressed by the staff who served dinner - those trays were heavy and we were a big group, but their balance and speed were impeccable!). Will absolutely be staying here again next time with visit the area!

This was our best-ever ryokan experience, after 8 years in Japan! We stayed in the Shikibu Suite, the 2nd-largest of 11 rooms, for 2 nights. Our 200sqm suite had an enclosed garden, a private deck with onsen pool, and a separate bedroom, living, and dining/tatami room, all for our family of 4. Although the Presidential Suite looks wonderful in photos, I feel the Shikibu Suite was the more authentic Japanese experience--it had the Old World charm of a Japanese house, all in luxurious, hand-carved wood. The ryokan outdid itself with meals--Kaiseki for dinner, and a choice of West or Japanese breakfast. Kudos to the Chef and our hostess, Akiko san. The service was superb--Sato san met our car upon arrival in the rain, giving everyone an umbrella, even the kids. Our shoes and luggage wiped in the foyer, we entered our beautiful suite, followed closely behind by the lady Sato san, with out afternoon tea. Sato san deserves unreserved praise--he produced in only 2 hours, a beautiful cake at my wife's secret request for our anniversary dinner, plus an unexpected flower bouquet, which was a real surprise for her. Thank you to all the staff at Osenji Yumedono Ryokan--we would love to come back again someday.

Probably the most stunning location of any hotel I’ve stayed in and one of the nicest rooms - in a minimalist way. No TV but quite the most incredible views of Mt Fuji from the room. The outside seating area attached to the room is so comfortable and for us private ( in many rooms it will be somewhat overlooked as guests walk around the site, but room 303 is on the “front row”. The Hotel reception is in a car park at 2775’ above sea level. Our room at 2910’ asl, dining room at 3026’ asl and the cloud terrace fire pit at 3117’ asl. So that’s 116’ up to breakfast or 216’ up to the terrace from the room - which didn’t bother us at all - and I am sure for less able bodied guests they will happily run people about in the Jeep. The Jeep is used to climb the 135’ up from the reception up to room although we ended up walking most of the time - only need to visit reception if hiring bikes or getting a taxi. Mechanical bike hire is free - we used this to get to the 7-eleven about 3km away for some in room snacks and drinks! Also cycled to ice caves about 15km away - well worth doing. Hotel staff extremely polite - English sometimes a little challenging but this was more to do with them trying hard to understand my wife’s dietary request for “no meat and no fish”. I think this was a little challenging for them to comprehend at times but they did accommodate and I know staff worked hard so to do. We sometimes I felt they over complicated the request by checking what she could: couldn’t eat - Just no meat no fish - simple! ( so no, bacon isn’t ok!). Breakfast was special - different but v good. ESP omelette. We almost got off to a bad start when I asked for only me to have the wild boar / venison dinner. My wife just wasn’t feeling that well and didn’t want to risk eating anything but was happy to join me for dinner and share a bottle of wine. This request was refused ( initially) - either both dine or I could be allowed to dine alone. I suspect they thought we would be trying to share the £70 per head meal - but of course the point was my wife didn’t want to eat - esp not meat! They conceded and I enjoyed an excellent meal and we shared a £70 bottle of wine too. I would have enjoyed the £100 per head Dutch oven experience but they would not concede this point and I would have had to eat alone ! Instead we had curry on 2 nights. A sort of hybrid “heat up your own” on the terrace. Tasty enough and worked well for us. But the hotel lost out by being rigid with the rules as the curry was far cheaper! So very many positives. The meal situation was a bit odd as to how it was handled but was OK in the end and my wife accepts she is fussy - but she can’t be the only vegetarian the hotel needs to accommodate ! It’s a stunning property in fabulous location and do highly recommend.

We loved this hotel! A small hotel of only 8 rooms positioned right by the lakeside of Kawaguchiko - ideally located for walks and enjoying the views across to Fuji. It is immaculately kept, has very good size rooms (could see Fuji from the window) and lovely, friendly staff. Reiko, who welcomed us when we checked in, spotted us on a road when she was in her car the following day, and took us on an impromptu guided tour to a waterfall and shrine. This was one of the highlights of our trip and was so kind of her to do on her day off, and encapsulated the willingness of the hotel to ensure our stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The adjoining FamilyMart is also ideal for purchasing anything you need during your stay. Would happily return and stay for longer!

The location of the hotel is fantastic for sunset viewing. There is plenty of parking across the road, with a surfeit of basically unnecessary staff. We had a reasonable-sized room with large windows and a wonderful panorama of the lake and Mount Fuji. That's all that's positive. The hotel is in two parts: the original building and an annexe. It is NOT suitable for wheelchair users trying to get to a restaurant. There are too many steps, twists and turns. There are lifts to find rooms in part A or part B, and the locations of the onsens (which switch between male and female every day - nice views, though). The signage is rare and confusing. As a stocky European (100Kg), I had immense difficulty sleeping on a very thin futon. The electric heater in the room blasts an unhealthy stream of hot air. Switch off this health risk and you FREEZE (we were there in late October). The hotel is relatively expensive, so you'd expect quality rooms. What you get is the uniform Japanese army-style sp****, goose**** green-walled room that you'd find in business hotels at half the room rate of this laughingly named 'NEW CENTURY' place. Minimalist, to say the least (in reality, pinched, lacking in generosity and well-being). At least there was a fridge (with a freezer icebox!!) In a series of measures as a response to the risks of COVID, there were no real glasses - just paper cups, and a message asking you to close the toilet lid before flushing. Disappointingly, the toilet was untypically low quality - no little hand-washing basin and fountain on the top of the toilet, and thus no towel in the toilet itself. (So, mucky hands grasping two sets of door handles to wash your hands. How's that for customary Japanese hygiene?) We (a group of 13 people - I was the only gaijin...) had booked an evening meal, room and breakfast the next morning. Dinner? Again, for the price, you'd expect a nice piece of fish (probably from the lake) right? NO way. We got a few bits of sukiyaki, and mean little dishes with bits and pieces of this and that... I've eaten MUCH better food in izakayas and bars throughout Japan. My opinion was echoed by most of our party. Breakfast was below ordinary. Simple, plain, dull. Something to dispense with quickly. Taking fuel on board, that's all. The service in the restaurant was desultory (= awful, ungracious). During dinner, a stocky old lady granted me the opportunity to be bumped TWICE by her capacious bottom as she served the person next to me. I complained and pushed back, to the accompaniment of giggles from her lithe, unobtrusive colleagues. Mercifully I was spared any further encounter with this voluminous rear end at breakfast. The staff at breakfast time were a) limited in number b) slow and c) VERY detached. One had the feeling they were cleaning staff put into waiting uniforms. Per person, we paid over 13,000 yen. The hotel is very good! Clean and warm, the indoor and outdoor hot springs are beautiful, the sauna facilities are good, the rooms are equipped with clothes in the hotel and the rooms, and the rooms face the Mount Fuji, the scenery is even more beautiful. Breakfast and dinner are sumptuous and refined. Hotel service is good. The hotel has shuttle bus to attractions and Kawaguchiko station. The only disadvantage is that we check in at 3 pm, but we must check out at 10 am. The time is very fast and the enjoyment time is too short.

This hotel has 3 blocks as it is set into a hill. The first block contains the lobby, then at the 5th floor you connect to the middle block (which faces Fuji directly) and contains rooms on the 6-7th floors. It also contains the bathing area with an outdoor view of Mount Fuji. From the middle block, the 8th floor connects to the last block which contains levels 8-10. This block has a view of Fuji but you have to look out your window at a slant. Rooms are run down and hotel looks like it was stuck in the 1970s. Curtains are stained, walls have marks, corridor walls are stucco. Shoji screens in room have torn paper. Sink looks dirty. Wood surfaces are worn. The finishings in the room could certainly use some refurbishment and love. However it is decently clean and I was still comfortable for my stay. Food was a good spread and tasty. I was treated to fireworks over the lake which was visible from the room. The hotel staff (front desk, dinner staff) all made it a point to mention the event and where to view it from, which I appreciate.

富士山目当ての宿泊だったが、残念ながら雲に隠れて観ること叶わず。しかしホテルのHPにある様に、天気が良ければ逆さ富士も見えるロケーション。今回夫婦での旅行だったが、もし次に行く時はたった２室しかないテラス付きの和洋室が絶対お勧め。今回土曜日宿泊だったため、和洋室の予約が取れなかったが、狭いけどテラス付きの部屋が何とか確保。驚きはその料金。2人で朝夕食事付なのに、他のホテルの一人分の料金より安いのにはビックリ。 朝夕の食事は共にビュッフェスタイルだったが、品数も多く美味しさもあって食べ過ぎてしまった。ホテルの従業員の教育も行き届いており、到着時にはすぐに出て来て車の移動してくれるし、食堂で子供を抱っこして飾っているオモチャの自動車見せていたお父さんがいたら、子供に「どれが好き？」と聞いてプレゼントしていた。 お風呂も泉質がいい温泉で、清掃の1時間以外いつでも入れるのもいい。 妻には安かろう悪かろうも覚悟しておく様に言っておいたが、部屋の狭さ以外最低限のアメニティも揃っており、従業員さん達の接客姿勢が凄くいいので、大変満足感があった宿でした。

For the price of this hotel, you can’t go wrong. Love the location and the view of Mount Fuji. This is a basic local hotel surrounded by much more expensive accommodations. We stay for 2 nights during the autumn light illumination festival. I have requested for a Mount Fuji view room. Worth the extra dollars to admire the beauty. The challenge is always trying to get a room during the peak season like cherry blossoms or autumn leaves season. Better book well in advance. This hotel offers free parking and free breakfast, simple but yet complete meal. The hotel looks like it had recently been remodel or upgraded from another establishment. The hotel surrounding and finish looks well maintained. Highly recommended stay.

We were highly recommended by friends, and booked three months before check-in, because it was the Spring Festival, there was only one room left at that time, and of course booked. A family of four stayed for breakfast and dinner at a tax of 38,000 yen. We rent a car from Tokyo. Because it departs at 10am, we want to say that we can't check in too early, so we drive to the Royal Palace Outlet first on the way, because the outlet is too big, we only go halfway around and don't want to go in the dark. When I was on the middle of the road, I had snowed in my life. I still met the big one at the hotel. Fortunately, there were snow tires on the road, and I opened slowly. Finally, it was safe to get to the destination. I didn't have long to settle the luggage, and I had dinner. The meal was exquisite, the barbecue, the sashimi, and the fried shrimp tasted good. Its bathroom has a hot spring, one hour, and the time to enter. The bedroom is quite big, you have to plan your bed, and the comfort is OK. It is still good to sleep in the snow overnight. Because it is snowing the next day, I didn't go to the cable car, the boat, and the Fuji is not meeting. So I have the motivation to come back next time. The accent of this night's stay is all Taiwanese, and it may be the first choice for Taiwanese travelers.

This is the second time staying in Fuji Ginkei, while the first time was in 2017. The reason I chose it when I went to Kawaguchiko the second time was the perfect location, service, and food when I stayed in 2017. First, I should thank the hotel staff. As you might know, it is tough for solo travelers to book a Ryokan room. As a search around the hotel list, which I think is perfect for the stay, Fuji Ginkei is one of a few hotels which said OK. I appreciate it. The location is perfect as you can see the lake and mountain simultaneously. For Kawaguchiko, only a few hotels have this kind of view. When you arrive at the Kawaguchiko station, don't forget to call them, and they will pick you up. However, when you live, if you want to take their shuttle bus, you need to check their shuttle bus schedule. I choose the Japanese-style room which a balcony since I want to take many photos from my room. It is worth it as the view from the room is perfect. I can stay in the room and watch Mount Fuji all afternoon. It even has an individual bathroom in the room, which is kind of rare. If you stay in the hotel in Winter, don't forget to use the outdoor onsen. It will be freezing to get in and out, but it is worth it as you will see a very clear sky and many stars when using the outdoor onsen. You will never forget it. Moreover, don't forget to go lakeside, which is only a few meters away. You can take perfect photos of the lake, Mount Fuji and the stars. It is impressive. Service is as good as before, which you can imagine. When you are having breakfast and dinner, the staff will talk with you, introducing the dish and telling you much exciting and helpful information. For once, I was discussing さかさふじ with them and really learned a lot. The dish is good. As I stayed for two nights, I think the first night's dinner was better than the second. For breakfast, I don't have too many things to say. Overall, the dish tasted good but not as impressive as in 2017, maybe because I tried some Michelin during these years, which increased my standard. Overall, it is an excellent hotel, and the price is not that high compared to other hotels around Kawaguchiko. Once again, is it worthy.

Great experience with this hotel and stunning with Mt. Fuji view from the balcony/window. Staffs have good service mind. There is both indoor and outdoor public bath with Mt. Fuji View. Dinner was served in-room on 9 course menu. Breakfast buffet was also great as they served numerous choice of foods including Japanese food. Hotel provided free shuttle to the train station. Overall experience was memorable and satisfied.

Vraiment extraordinaire. La navette est venu nous chercher et tout a été absolument parfait. L’hôtel était très beau et le onsen jouis d’air d’une vue magnifique sur le Fuji. Nous avons très bien mangé et chaque repas en bénéficiant des conseils avisés d’une serveuse d’une grande délicatesse, sans elle notre séjour n’aurait pas du tout été aussi bon. Nous avons adoré notre séjour ici et nous ne l’oublierons jamais. Note aux français : le Japon est un pays magnifique, extrêmement accueillant, aux coutumes séculaires. En retour je pense que cela mérite de s’intéresser un minium aux usages de politesse et à la langue. J’ai été assez choqué de voir le comportement de mes compatriotes sur place : être en retard, se lever de table, commencer des plats et ne pas les finir, tout cela est insultant pour les japonais qui vous reçoivent.

Located in the north of Kawaguchiko Lake, the first day to feel a little biased, the next day found that the net red punch card store is a five-minute walk away, very pleasant surprise, art museums and music halls are all around, 200 meters away from Kawaguchiko Lake, there are two convenience stores, it seems that there are many re-built projects. The hotel itself is a bit old, but very clean, can not wear shoes in, the room is big enough, there is a microwave, the reception staff is very thoughtful

This time I went to travel alone, but this homestay is very good. The cabin has two floors and all are cleaned! The toilet is separated from the bathroom, and there is a sofa and an open kitchen in the lobby on the first floor! The second floor is a bedroom. 2 single beds are added to the tatami outside the room. 4-5 people can sleep! The homestay is run by an old couple. The old lady is very warm and entertaining. In the face of foreign guests, she will take her mobile phone to explain to you. If you don't plan to stay in Asakawa or Kawaguchiko hot spring hotel, it is recommended to try this one! I hope the old couple will be healthy and see you next time! The only fly in the ointment is that Google map navigation is wrong, and remember to go around from a intersection behind to the last part, otherwise you can't find the way

工作人員非常熱情，我們到時在下雨，工作人員小跑迎上來核對了入住人員姓名后直接引導至房間門口入住，避免孩子們淋雨。房間內溫暖舒適，設施設備齊全備品充足，沙發上或床上都可以看到富士山，前麪不遠視野裏有小房子阻擋，比照湖邊景色稍顯不足，但勝在安靜。需要注意的是，河口湖站的紅線巴士運營時間早九晚六，其餘時間公共交通回酒店就沒有了，出租車也不好找，切記！
