Avoid rooms near the Medina entrance if you’re a lite sleeper or enjoy the view and use white noise. Rooms are lavish and well stocked, mine had a tub and shower, views onto courtyard are beautiful, musicians in courtyard and restaurant. The terrace has a variety of seating (covered and not), nice pool. Be prepared for alot of wind, so close to the shore. Friendly staff, many know English well enough, some are fluent. Check out L’Petit Spa!

Lovely staff and hotel but if you want peace there isn’t any . It’s sooooo noisy ALL the time . I gave it a 4 but would probably do 3.5 based on that . Staff were fantastic . Food was great . Pool area a bit flat lacking atmosphere but it was so windy and chilly anyway . So if you’re not noise sensitive go for it !

Nicely located and comfortable with super friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. We also very much enjoyed the dinner experience and breakfast buffet. The room was comfortable and pleasantly decorated, including a nice fireplace. The only negative was that the shower was a bit small. The rooftop pool was nice, but it was too windy to use during our stay. As with so much of Morocco, the hospitality and service commitment of the staff was the real highlight!

This wasn't our first choice in Essaouira, but it should have been. Picked up by the porter just outside the Bab. The drive from Marrakech took about 3 hours. Lovely welcome amongst water and plants. My room was very nice on the first floor, but my two sons on the second was even better. It was a big suite. Breakfast was excellent, (we ate out in Essaouira each evening), do try the local places.. All the staff were very friendly and provided Casablanca beer whenever requested! Great place to stay and easy to walk around Essaouira. I would stay again.

Beautiful palace in the heart of the Medina. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and helpful. The hotel is comfortable, the rooms set around a central courtyard. The roof terrace is an incredible place to relax after sightseeing. Breakfast also very good. Would definitely recommend as a great place to spend a couple of nights.

Old school classic and beautiful. Fantastic service. Great staff and comfortable beds with beautiful linen. When we wanted to go to the beach they packed towels and gave us a beach bag. When we left we had a box of cookies and water. Just a fabulous stay in the medina.

This is a beautiful hotel....tastefully decorated, spacious and comfortable with large rooms, gorgeous spaces and very attentive and thoughtful staff. We were made welcome from the moment we walked through the door.... The restaurant is first class...every meal we had was delicious and the slight problem we had was dealt with promptly and professionally. The riad is inside the medina and very close to one of the gates....we felt secure and right at home. Thank you for a very pleasant experience.

Went up to the terrace for a drink. The mojito was huge and very nice. Nice little oasis. Plenty of cosy lounges. Spent a lovely 2 hrs relaxing. The staff were unobtrusive and welcoming. This was a lovely surprise as the hotel looked imposing. I was extremely casually dressed and probably looked down and out. But the staff were not deterrent

I should start by saying that the hotel is an amazing building that has been restored and converted into a hotel very well indeed. The building exudes class. The bedrooms are very comfortable, arranged as they are around the courtyard. The bar/lounge room is very beautiful. We had a whiskey late one evening in there. They have a great selection and it is a lovely place to spend a few moments later in the evening. The breakfast was really great. Very high quality food. The roof terrace is really nice, although the staff start packing up early at around 3.30 which was a little disconcerting. The restaurant closes early on the terrace too, although we were there in low season. The staff were very smiley and friendly but not very proactive. We tried to get some restaurant recommendations and itinerary recommendations but they weren’t very useful. Probably because most people who stay at the hotel book guides. The restaurant looked quite expensive. We didn’t try it, but the menu looked good. The hotel is expensive compared with other hotels, but maybe not by the standards of hotels in other cities. Overall, it was probably worth the money and seemed time the best hotel in the city that I could find. The reason I say that is that for all the criticisms it still ouses charm and elegance which is worth paying for.
