The Good: Vintage Charm: The hotel's classic architecture and furnishings transported me back to a bygone era. It was a delightful escape from the ordinary. Top-Notch Service: The staff were incredibly attentive and helpful, making my stay truly enjoyable. Delicious Cuisine: The food at the hotel's restaurants was flavorful and satisfying. Room for Improvement: Chilled to the Core: While the bed heaters were a nice touch, the room itself remained quite cold, especially for a place known for its chilly climate. A room heater would have made a significant difference in comfort. Overall: Central Heritage Resort and Spa offers a unique and charming experience with excellent service and delicious food. However, the lack of proper heating in the rooms could be a significant drawback for some, particularly during colder months. If you're looking for a nostalgic stay with exceptional service and don't mind the possibility of a chilly room, this hotel might be a good fit. However, if warmth is a top priority, you might want to consider other options.

Booking amount (40k) not refunded for a month now. followed up multiple times over email and call. Now they have stopped taking calls as well. Worst customer service. Actual first we booked directly with Hotel which we cancelled and then booked thru Agoda … they promised to provide room at ground level as we were travelling with 2 Sr citizens but at the time of check in they flatly denied and gave us rooms on second floor.

Being an avid traveler, I have been hundreds of places in India and abroad. Trust me, this is the worst hotel i have ever stayed in. We were a group 15 family members and all echoed the same thoughts. a. Our room category was Executive king room which they claim to be 269sqft in their website, trust me its not even 125 sqft. room is extremely small, you would keep on bumping into bed and other things. if you are a family with 2-3 suitcases, you wont even have a space to keep your luggage on the floor. we used to open one luggage at a time. It was such a shabby-dingy room with hanging balcony. one of the glasses of balcony railing was missing. b. breakfast was okayish and very slow service. food quality was ok. c. now comes the most horrific part, they keep the shutter of the main entrance/exit down at night with no security or hotel personnel at your disposal. meaning if you face any emergency or god forbid there is any extreme accident/calamity happens in hotel (read fire) then you have no option but to find yourself locked inside the hotel with shutter kept down and locked from the outside. d. kitchen staff lacks basic understanding of hindi/english language - we ordered dinner and later decided to add more portions to it, the same was communicated to kitchen staff which they understood as cancellation they cancelled our previous order for dinner which was 4 portions each of everything and served us only one portion. Imagine our condition- we were 15 people to eat and as per new rule, everything (literally everything) closes in darjeeling at 9.30pm . we had to settle down for boiled rice and salt. e. room service is rude-if you decide to order tea/coffee/bread in your room, be ready to face the brunt of room service people. they show attitude and treat you as if they are doing you a big favour by sending chargeable food in your room. also the tea sucks. dont even think of ordering it. f. front desk/reception - beware and check your bill carefully, the front desk is weak in calculation and posting of bills. they tried to charge us for 4 nights, whereas we stayed for only 3 nights and then tried to justify the overcharging us by giving vague excuses. trust me, we had a hard time getting our bills cleared in time. Overall we had a nightmarish experience in staying at Central Heritage. Only one good thing about the hotel is the food taste. some of the things like - chicken curry, thai chicken, is good in taste, but portion is very small. only 1.5 people with basic appetite can feed on one portion.

The hotel is split into two buildings ... even though the "newer" one has a elevator there are still difficult stairs to navigate on each level. The rooms in the new wing (with elevator) are old and shabby. Windows aren't sealed well (great for Himalayan cold, and there is not central heating but you can hire a heater if you wish - and one is available). Hot water has limited hours, but then it could only be described by any of our group as warm .... Noise from outside is noticeable at night, as are dog packs who fight in the lane-ways behind the hotel. Breakfast was very poor, with limited options and minimal staff support. Front office staff tried to be helpful, but the property lets them down. Cannot recommend this property - it seems to be stuck in the old "ITC" mentality.

The resort is located near the shopping hub (The Mall Road) and the mighty Kanchenjunga is visible from the lounge as well as Annexe Building. The hotel is very clean, has heritage rooms and the entire team right from the reception to room service to house keeping to dining staff is very courteous and helpful. The food is hygienic and tasty. Also the cab service arranged by the hotel is extremely reliable.

I really was a bit disappointed Because The room that was offered to me was in a different building across a main road which was never mentioned in their website. There is a lift, but the room numbering and lift were rather confusing c.a. room 201 in first floor, but room 205 could be in a different floor, very difficult to negotiate The room that was allotted to me was very irregular in shape, not only disturbing but also I think not proper according to Vastu Front desk, if not rude, was not welcoming either Forget about views of Kanchenjhungha if that was what you are looking at Yes a lot of afternoon sunshine, I enjoyed basking Not far from the Mall, but not either in it Overall I was disappointed

Very good rooms with a balcony that gave us a glimpse of the Kanchenjunga peak. Service was also very quick and all the staff members were really polite and helpful. Especially Mr. Rana who arranged a local tour facility in a cab and also helped us a lot during our stay in Darjeeling

Be careful while choosing this hotel at Darjeeling. You will find far better places to stay. I had a terrible experience at this hotel. They allotted a premium room as I wanted a room with a good view. This was supposed to be the best room. But guess what, the lift is available till fourth floor and one has to climb fleets of stairs to reach the room two floors above, too much for a senior citizen like me, the balcony window panes in the room were oversized leaving large gaps for cold air to seep in and make the room uncomfortable. Ceiling beam is right above the bed which is prohibited by any architectural design, when asked for room heater, I was told that is chargeable!!! I requested for change of room, they provided another room with no geyser, central water heating system's availability for limited time, insects in washroom, column adjacent to the bed. Waah. I wanted to checkout and move in to other hotel, but here again there is an issue. I have paid in advance for 3 days, and I am told that 'last minute refund will not be given as a policy' So there you see. Absolute apatathy towards customers. And by the way, when one arrives in taxi with luggage, there is no place to unload the baggage. The hotel entrance door opens on the congested road. You are bound to create a traffic jam and face the ire of the commuters and police. STILL, YOU MAY BOOK THIS HOTEL IF YOU WANT TO RUIN YOUR HOLIDAY
