If you are looking for a quiet hotel in the area well connected to the train station, this is it. Everyone in the hotel were genuinely friendly and helpful. Room was clean and specious, although if you are a non smoker better inform the hotel to prepare a room without the cigarette smell. They have Chinese style breakfast. During the weekdays, with only few guest, there weren't much choice, but everything was good. During weekends with more guests there were a lot of options. Only if they have real coffee, not instant... Hot Springs Area was additionally paid 88 per person, open 14-21. It was a very nice experience, but expect a lot of people during weekends. Unfortunately while inside, you cannot to go to the hotel restaurant to eat something, but you can order waimai. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and big thanks to the front desk staff for all the support 😊

Coming to Chaozhou for the first time to check out the suitability for family travel. The hotel’s service is superb and the team always makes you feel welcome, from arrival to departure. They make sure they are connected with you on WeChat or mobile, so that you can contact them whenever and wherever (which is good for introverts who prefer not to speak face to face). The location is just directly opposite West Lake (西湖), and in the morning there is a small fruit market outside. It is walkable to 西马路，牌坊街，开元寺，广济桥 around 15-20min walk, but of course, you can take Didi or one of the trishaws outside the hotel. Even though it is not luxurious, what I love about this hotel is that I can leave without dirty clothes, because they offer dry cleaning services for unlimited pieces of clothing, once per day (till 22:00).

The best part of this place is the location, right behind YUY Hotel at the junction of Paifang Street (Taiping Rd) and Xima Road. You can just walk a few minutes to Kaiyuan Temple, Guangji Gate and Guangji Bridge. At 5.30pm, they remove the pontoons in the middle of the bridge and at 8pm, there is a light show. Food is abundantly found in the surrounding streets. Access to this hotel is via the 2 lanes beside YUY Hotel from Paifang street or Xima Road. The boss and his wife communicate in Mandarin, so Google translate will come in handy. Before checking in, you need to inform the inn of the time of arrival so that the boss can meet you. We were given a key card and complete freedom to go in and out anytime. The place is quiet and very clean. It is also quite new. Amenities are good quality, towels and bedding all good. Perfect for an independent traveller. Hosts are friendly and helpful. There is a washing machine and place for drying clothes on the rooftop. If you come from Chaosan train station, take bus K2 and stop at the Central Hospital opposite West Lake and walk to the inn in about 10-15mins. It is a B&B located in a residential building. The service is good and it has washing and drying equipment. It was renovated and opened in 2023 and the environment is good. It is very close to Kaiyuan Road, and it is very convenient to travel around. You can basically walk there in a few minutes. From the B&B to Kaiyuan Road, cross the road and go straight. There is a delicious goose ”Shangxiping Liu Bu Goose” on Paifang Street. The Guantang beef here is also good, check it out, the price is very reasonable. Kaiyuan Temple (Kaiyuan Road) and Taifo Temple (about 5-10 minutes by taxi) If you like to take photos, you should reserve more time (there are rental clothing and photographers, prices vary), otherwise it will take 10 minutes. After walking across the Guangji Bridge (if you don’t want to take a taxi back, it’s best to ask if there is a round-trip ticket) to the Hanwengong Temple, you can climb up and have a distant view. The tickets are free and you need to scan the QR code at the door to make a reservation.
