I'd give it no stars but there's no option for that!!! What can I say about this place to start with, except we didn't get there. Luckily I looked on the website the month before to contact the apartments after a booking with *********** had gone wrong. It was initially to confirm our booking and there it was on the website 'the apartments were closed due to a fire'. Lucky I checked because there was no word from the apartments to let us know that if we arrived a month later in the dead of night we'd have nowhere to stay. I sent an email to what I thought was a reservation confirmation line, to ask them to confirm my booking and what I need to do going forward. Had a reply almost straight away (booking still not confirmed) to say the apartments would not be ready and the person dealing with this enquiry was only too happy to offer another apartment. I opted for the safe option to get a refund, then the happy service abruptly ended. So, someone called Warren asked for my number to call me regarding this issue. Gave my number, and a time to ring, only then to get a WhatsApp. Very professional indeed (not). To begin with I was told he would request a refund and he'd let me know what was happening. Two days went by and nothing. I WhatsApp'd Warren for progress and he said it was with the accounts team...no update. Two more weeks went by & still nothing. Another WhatsApp sent, this time to receive a refund form for what I was previously told was being dealt with. By now I'm pretty steaming about the whole ordeal. Three weeks later and still not had a single confirmation of our booking. It was a very simple request anyone can do it! By now I've had enough of Warren WhatsApping me with his rude replies...remember Warren you are talking to customers, not your mates in a pub, and after two more emails to the original email address I'm not surprised to say...NO REPLY! We still had the pleasure of going to Cape Town and luckily we had the pleasure of staying in apartments where the staff were a lot more hospitable and only too happy to help with our every request, but Lastay & the Rockwell have 20,000 rand of my money I am no closer to getting back. The last option is to send a refund form to the very building that has been closed down and when I walked past on my holiday it looked as though it was abandoned and *****ped to the teeth of anything that resembled a building. So a warning if you plan on booking this place when/if it does reopen. Really consider looking somewhere else!!!

This unit is above the pub and incredibly noisy. Access tag was problematic and had to be reprogrammed repeatedly Bath is in need of a facelift Parking Security were extremely unfriendly Pool was not heated

Check in was a nightmare, we had to circle the block 3 times and every time pop back in to reception to get the parking disc reset very time. eventually we got into the building, when you access the lifts in the basement, there is NO signage to say that the lift on the left is only for staff and will not work for guests needless to say we got stuck, doors don't open and the lift does not move. After ringing the emergency bell, security got us out on the ground floor. we then had to change to a different lift and move all of our stuff, as you cannot go to upper floors using the lift from the basement. As it was loadshedding, I asked about using the stairs, they are apparently locked, but will open in the event of a fire - I certainly would not want to test that theory. I could go on and on, suffice to say, all of the guests from our party were very unhappy with the Rockwell and will NOT be staying there ever again.

When we arrived Rockwell had no record of our booking despite the Chief Operating Officer having confirmed the booking in an email. We had to mill around for three hours. When we returned no progress had been made. Eventually there was a cancellation and we were given a room we were informed was available for two nights. We were asked for proof of payment which we provided. There was no apology and the hotel blamed Agoda for the mistake. There appeared to be no porter or doorman. Our room had only three forks and three spoons. Furnishings are budget not luxury. We had to buy a bread knife. Nobody ever checked if everything was in order. The walk to the Waterfront is twenty minutes and via a tented community under a bridge. The bath is tiny and shower head low. The additional fee should you wish your room to be serviced is exorbitant. On the plus side there is a nearby Spar, the linen was clean, the WiFi quick and the view of signal hill and the mountain decent. Unfortunately in the foreground is an abandoned service station.

When leaving my first hotel, and wanting to come and book in for a few extra nights, I was met by an extremely friendly security guard that showed me to the reception area, as I stood there explaining to the receptionist that I would like to book in, she kept looking down at her computer doing work. I stopped, to give her a minute to rather finish, when she then decided to look up at me and tell me, that I fact she was able to multitask and that she could I fact in am extremely rude tone, multitask and she can answer my questions and do her work at the same time, when I mentioned that I felt that it was extremely rude, she started going off at me, about what she cant And can't do. I would never recommend staying here

I had a booking with Rockwell "Luxury" Suites last week. When checked into the room, it was anything but "Luxury", in fact the level of accommodation, finishes, equipment could be described as nothing but "budget". The unit was cheaply finished, sp****ly furnished, and the kitchen crockery, utensils, glasses, cooking equipment were below boarding school quality. The unit smelt of bleach / disinfectant, which was overpowering. I was planning to use the apartment to meet offsite with management from my business in Cape Town, and just could not do so due to due to the apartment being so poor. The property may argue that their facility "ticks all the boxes" as advertised. I cannot argue with this, but it certainly does not meet the expectations of the price point charged. There are signs in the apartment asking guests not to use ********* in the apartment, what sort of place is this?? I left the apartment within 45 minutes of arriving, after making a few calls to find a suitable alternative. I make use of apartments and hotels in Cape Town at least once a month. This is by far the worst accommodation I have experienced in the past 3 years. I have requested a refund from the property, but have had no response.
