We visited this hotel back in 2016 for ten nights and couldn't wait to return this time for three weeks. After a delayed departure we arrived three days late. Sharon at reception was brilliant, very welcoming and helpful, felt like we had arrived home. Feelings are very mixed. I so wanted to love it again, and sort of, still do but unfortunately it just didn't quite make the mark this time. We knew it was small but we had hoped the bar area would have been looked at. There is only room for a few chairs, the ones they have are quite big but because of the position, doesn't make it easy to chat to everyone, also as we had so many showers, people were not using the courtyard area as we had done before. I do think the layout needs to be looked at. There is a lot of wasted space at the front of the building, it isn't air conditioned and there seems to be a lot more mozzies around there. The seating looks ok and we used it quite a bit to play cards but had to sit in front of a fan. Very few seemed to use the area, I'm sure something could be done there to make it more inviting. Some of the restaurant staff are so lovely, Elsie and Sharon stood out for me, always smiling and very welcoming. Food was ok, not sure it was as good as previously, but I never went hungry, and you only had to ask if you wanted poached eggs, a little honey or anything else you fancied. Majority of staff would helpfully oblige. Lemar is lovely at the bar, he makes the best Daiquiris. The pool area I feel is not being kept to the best standard. Needs to be cleaned more regularly. It easily feels overcrowded there if most of the guests stay at the hotel, which then leaves nowhere else to sit if you want to catch some rays. The plastic mattresses that they have put on the chairs really don't do the trick especially with the amount of rain we had. They seem to absorb the rain so when you put your dry towel down your bottom is soaked within minutes, trivial maybe but uncomfortable. Of course we have to remember they have had a lot more rain this January than they normally do, so I'm sure most of the time it isn't a problem. We visited both Mango Bay & The Sands hotel, (sister hotels), both are lovely and they do have a beach area. Our choice would be The Sands which surprised us both as normally we prefer a smaller, quieter hotel, but the surroundings, pool and beach were impressive and having spoken to a few people who were staying there, it certainly sounded like it would be worth a try if we were to return. I feel really sad as I truly loved this place the first time around, and it is not that I would never return, I do think that some changes do need to be made if I was to consider it. Of course it is one of the lower priced all inclusive, so one should always bear that in mind, it is the surrounding beach areas and location that do help. Maybe worth the hotel considering having foldaway chairs that could be taken to the beach for the day for a smal

Still having nightmares about this terrible hotel a year on . Don’t be fooled by the reviews from returning guests praising everything from the friendly staff, outstanding food and lovely rooms, it is nothing of the sort. The only positive about this hotel is location. Promises made by management to rectify all the issues we had with our room have NOT been addressed. A friend was recently the same room and had the same issues. The only difference was she was moved to a ‘better’ room. We had to suffer it for 12 nights.

If you’re looking for 5 star, luxury spa with sea views this isn’t the place for you. It’s quirky, historic and has a fantastic small intimate feel about it. The rooms are basic and could do with a bit of a make over but the beds are comfortable the air con worked great (and we needed it) and to be honest it was what we needed for the amount of time we spent in it. Perfectly situated for easy access to Carlisle Bay and Pebble Beach and that in itself was brill. We did the touristy snorkel trip and would highly recommend. The food was great, I’m really fussy but I thoroughly enjoyed every meal, their fish is amazing. The staff were funny, accommodating and friendly. Big shout out especially to Tre, Lemar and Terry on the bar, Elsie in the dining area and Thora who is a star on the dance floor. We had a fabulous time, met lots of lovely and likeminded people and we would definitely return

We have been to Barbados on cruises but never stayed before. We wanted a small and friendly hotel and found the Island Inn. Despite mixed reviews we thought we would try it and we were not disappointed. Yes it is dated but this adds to it's charm. We had a superior garden room and loved it. Large room, very clean with a lovely comfortable bed. The food was excellent, we never had a bad meal and the food was never cold. I recommend ordering the packed lunch to take to the beach - sandwiches, cake, fresh fruit and beer, what more could you ask for. A special mention to Lamar one of the bar staff and his rum tasting evening which was great fun. We met some very nice people at the hotel and enjoyed our chats over a rum punch or cocktail. We thoroughly enjoy our time at this hotel and would recommend you give it a try.

Typically, we opt for accommodations that offer tranquility over an all-inclusive experience. As travelers who value relaxation, we seek out hotels that provide a serene environment without the fanfare of water slides or late-night entertainment. Our preference leans towards hotels that are conveniently located near the beach and public transportation, and Island Inn Hotel seemed to fit the bill. Despite reading some unfavorable reviews about the hotel staff after making our reservation last year, we decided to form our own opinion. Our experience turned out to be delightful! The bartenders, Lemar and Tre, were exceptionally helpful, and I had the pleasure of sampling a wide variety of cocktails. The restaurant team, front desk staff, and housekeeping were all pleasant as well. It appears the hotel may have refreshed their staff with more enthusiastic individuals, which reflected in the service quality that was quite satisfactory for the price. Our daily routine included enjoying breakfast and dinner (no lunch as we were always on the go) at the hotel, each meal a delightful experience. The proximity of Pebbles Beach allowed us to easily return to the hotel for refreshments and bathroom breaks. Lounging on the pristine white sands with a cocktail in hand made me feel regal. This beach is also known for the morning spectacle of racehorses bathing, a view we could enjoy only a few steps from the hotel. During our stay, we ventured to Holetown for its annual festival and visited Mango Bay Hotel, a sister property. We were fortunate to dine there and were invited to use their larger pool and restaurant facilities, something we'll certainly do next time. Our explorations also took us to Hastings, accessible by public bus, which was an adventure in itself, especially the packed journey to Holetown made bearable by a fellow passenger's soothing church hymns practice. Situated about a 20-minute walk from Bridgetown in the Garrison area, both UNESCO-listed sites, Island Inn Hotel's location proved to be an excellent base for our Barbados adventure. Opting not to drive on the left-hand side of the road, we relied on taxis for airport transfers and a comprehensive island tour. We also indulged in a catamaran excursion to swim with turtles. Whether it was joining organized tours, arranging airport pickups, hopping on public buses, or strolling to Bridgetown, the hotel's location was incredibly convenient. I've even recommended Island Inn Hotel to a friend planning a Barbados trip.

We have just returned from the Islands Inn and had a great time. Our room was a family suite, was really spacious and looked out on to the pool which our kids loved. Had a large bathroom with a walk in shower, bath with shower head and separate toilet area which was great for families. Room had great AC and fast WiFi. Even had a four poster bed! The room was cleaned daily and fresh towels and beach towels provided. The food was lovely and a very different all inclusive than you would get in Europe. Most meals were plated with a choice menu for lunch and dinner. We didn't have a bad meal the whole week. The club sandwich was huge and there were some really nice options available for lunch. The buffet lunches and evening meals were particularly good and food was always served hot. Breakfast was fantastic with lots of options, the corned beef hash was amazing! All the waiting staff were super friendly and very professional in their work. Elsie was fab and provided lots of laughs for our large table of 10. Lemar, on the bar was a top guy! Very knowledgeable on the rum tasting evening and made us some great cocktails, even ones not on the menu. He also kept our kids well hydrated with Shirley Temples throughout the week! One observation I would make is that the bar could do with two staff working the same shift or a cross over shift as it was difficult for other jobs like cleaning, clearing glasses and replenishing stock to be done whilst serving the guests. The manager was very friendly and often made time to chat to the guests which was a nice touch. The hotel grounds are really nice, lovely courtyard area which is all lit up with pretty fairy lights and the pool area is good. I would say there could be a little more entertainment on an evening as was only on two nights out of the week we were there. The singer on the Saturday evening was fantastic and this was by far our favourite evening. The family of monkeys we regularly saw around the hotel were really interesting to watch and our family had great fun watching them. The hotel is two minutes walk to Pebbles Beach which is nice to see the race horses being bathed on a morning. Thank you for looking after us during our stay Island Inn.

We stayed here for 2 nights before going to the Sands. We like this area as Pebble Beach is great to see the horses in the morning and as you walk past the pier on the beach you will get to Carlisle Bay which in my opinion is the best beach on the island. Also you have to get the world renowned fish cutter from Fuzz's. There is almost always a queue though but it's worth it! The Island inn is small and very friendly. The staff were all lovely and the food was freshly prepared. The best rum punches courtesy of Orlando. They kindly decorated the room for us to which was very kind. Nice big comfortable bed and large bathroom. It would make a great base for exploring the Island.

A very different AI hotel. Excellent food & excellent staff. Elsie is so friendly. Breakfast is a buffet but lunch & dinner is served except on buffet & barbecue days. Lots of choice. I am a vegetarian but eat fish which was served daily. So nice to sit down and have food served in an AI hotel. Rooms were cleaned every day. Towels changed when required. Complimentary toiletries were available. I wasn't so keen on our garden view room at first but soon changed my mind as it was peaceful. Other family members had family poolside suites which were really nice. The pool is small but adequate and the children loved it. Being 2 minutes from the sea is a bonus. A minute walk to the main road means its easy to get buses along the south coast & into Bridgetown.

A lovely rustic boutique hotel of 24 rooms. Just steps to Pebbles Beach and Carlisle Bay. A few minutes walk to Bridgetown. All-Inclusive food and drinks in an alfresco setting. Exceptional quality on all fronts. The small plunge pool does the trick when a cool down is necessary.
