It‘s really isn‘t the place for such a special night. Lot of people stayed at the hotel to celebrate. The lobby was full. However, the hotel and staff made absolutely nothing to welcome the new year: no count down, no cheering, no wishing happy new year, etc. A a restaurant told me, he just wanted to go home. It could have been any other night of the year, the hotel just didn’t care about giving a special touch. Some guests tried to do something for their but overall it was a terrible start to the year. I made the comment to the man at reception. The reply: their management is doing nothing for them either and they are stuck there working. He even found it laughable that I would have such expectations and was talking about it with the other staff loud enough for me to hear. I did have the impression that the restaurant was under staff and the restaurant manager was always running on her feet ( a star for her) . Furthermore, the cleaners always came around 16-17:00 when we were back in the room to rest ( not enough cleaning staff ?). Consequently, two nights and 3 days with no room cleaning. I know this hotel sells new year packages. Honestly, don’t bother. In addition to the lack of ambiance the New Year’s eve meal was served cold, the beef was tough and tasteless
